I can't give higher than one star because I was completely violated by a bouncer outside the door yesterday around 7:30. Aside from that my drink with top shelf vodka was undrinkable and so I ordered a Topo Chico. I was convinced I was served well vodka and not Kettle One (they did not have Chopin).. and the restroom smelled like sewer.After leaving our drinks at the bar full (and paid for), I walked out with my Topo Chico in hand, which was completely full. The bouncer straight away aggressively yelled at me that I'm not allowed to take that out. I was startled and retorted that I can it's just water. The bouncer then took his fist and put it around the top of my bottle yanking it out of my hand in such an aggressive manner. I was completely triggered at that point , understandably. I smashed the bottle down in anger and walked away shaking. I didn't want to drink it anyway at that point as his hand was on the top where you drink. It was traumatic.

The door man is horrible and this place is in deparate need of a good cleaning. Hard pass. Catbirds has friendlier staff, a better crowd, a better vibe, and is much cleaner.

Great place, wonderful kitschy decor, good value on the drinks... and pinball!! A bunch of good tables in great shape. Located next to a bunch of vintage stores. Only time I really enjoy shopping with the girlfriend. She can shop as long as she wants, and I can play pinball & imbibe in a well mixed cocktail.

Why must "dive bars" always have pretentious bartenders-? Booo. I guess if you're not someone they recognize as "their kind" they treat you like you don't belong and like you're asking for too much anytime you order. Had been wanting to come here for years. First and last time. The place is cool inside. They have an outdoor patio which is cool. One bartender seemed sweet, the other was rude. But that's what we get for being "inclusive" in modern society ha.

The bartender was very attentive. They have happy hour everyday from 3-7 pm on $4 well drinks. They also have great prices on cocktails as well. Now my favorite shot is the one they offer here called the Up-down. A jagermeister with cold brew ?

It's a cozy, small bar with eclectic decorations. There's a host of pinball machines that add to the atmosphere, but actually playing them can get difficult since there's seating adjacent to them. Finding seating was difficult, due to the size of the place. Bathroom was clean and had free period products, a stall door was broken though. Clientele was mostly millennial aged. Cocktails were an okay price but cans were almost as much ($7) which was weird.Parking: Neighborhood parking

Hard to find a better bar than Poison Girl. It feels the way a bar should. Music up, chatty crowd, walls covered in a lovely mix of portraits, a row of pinball machines, and a rundown backyard patio with lots of tables and chairs (yes, you can smoke!). With so many bars competing to make the latest and greatest cocktail riff in some overly curated setting where too much of the cost is going to glam interiors, Poison Girl is always a breath of fresh air with simple, but always perfectly executed drinks by unpretentious bartenders. We go frequently and it's become our go-to bar in Montrose. A staple bar. Go!

Eccentric divebar with a fabulous whiskey menu! The service is clinical if you aren't a regular which is to be expected. Great place to chill with your friends over rounds of well priced whiskey and beer! Would highly recommend if you're into something less common.
