The outside says “Authentic Mexican”, when in fact it was not. There was not any hot or spicy chile or sauce. I asked for epazote on the chilaquiles as well, which could be offers to be added on the side. The waiters quickly said no, not on the chilaquiles and no, they don’t have hot chile or salsa because people usually don’t eat it. This could have been addressed with the Chef or kitchen staff. Absolutely closed the doors of us having a nice meal. The Chef would pass by to serve, assist and ask other patrons at the establishment. Not once did he acknowledge. Prices are ridiculous. Food is not delicious and so very bland to a level satisfaction that could ever be authentic Mexican food. We’re never coming back and won’t ever refer this establishment.
Food and drinks were fantastic! We had the enchiladas and tacos al pastor. The fresa margarita was strong and not too sweet or syrupy, the spicy margarita was perfection. We had the arroz con leche empanadas were off the chart. I would definitely recommend this place !!

I wish I would have taken pictures but trust me the was food looked beyond tasteful.
The picaditas (sopes) were the best I’ve had in the states. The taste of the fresh masa combined with their earthy, vibrant salsa was superb.
I had chilaquiles with chicken and my husband has the steak/cheese quesadillas. Both were full of flavor! Took us back to Mexico. The food was authentically prepared and served on clay plates as if I was in a villa in Mexico. 12/10 recommend!!!

We discovered this place because our parents wanted something authentic while visiting Houston. We have been coming here for years. The food is truly so so good. Every flavor is presented in such a way that it takes us back to your roots. The chef is hands on outside the kitchen. If you’re wanting real food, visit Polanquito. You won’t regret it.

Delicious and excellent service.
Highly recommended for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Their cafe de olla is truly the best. Their cocktail and food menu never disappoint. This place is authentic to the craft of Mexican cuisine.

The prices are astronomical. We ordered Chilaquiles for $16.50 w shredded chicken, which was an additional $3.95. If you wanted it w beef it was an extra $5, and it doesn't come w a fried egg. Authentic mexican Chilaquiles come w a friend egg on top. So why is adding an egg to the entree an extra $2.95? 🤔 Not to mention, no additional sauces, free chips w salsa or even tortillas were offered with the entree. Literally, what you see in the pic, is what you get for a $20.45 entree. I also ordered an horchata, which is one of my favorite mexican drinks. I drink it all the time. Theirs was white and tasted like it was made with coconut milk and zero cinnamon in it. I had them take it back and remove it off the bill. We weren't paying $5 for a drink that doesn't even taste remotely close to what it's supposed to taste.
Here's the kicker, the chef Diego Navarro, came out to our table to essentially defend the horchata and argue w me about it not being made w coconut. Granted he offered me another drink, which I declined, but since when is a chef concerned about drinks, let alone be defensive over them?! Never have I ever. 🤦🏻♀️
Needless to say, we won't be back. I lived in Mexico for 10yrs. I love true authentic Mexican food. This ain't it. Better yet, the small venue across the street, Tio Trompo, is more authentic than this place and half the cost. Plus, the workers are a lot more pleasant and attentive.
Reply to Owner's response:
The chef coming out to argue with a customer about how the horchata is not made with coconut milk, when the beverage itself not only TASTES like coconut but it was literally PURE WHITE in color without even the taste of cinnamon in it, wasn't about being understanding. It was pure gaslighting and defensiveness. Horchata is NEVER pure white, nor does it EVER taste like coconut. There's NO coconut in AUTHENTIC Horchata. I make it myself, from scratch. I even grind rice to make the flour that makes the drink. I know EXACTLY what goes in an horchata. If it's pure white, it means there's no vanilla, no cinnamon and no sweetened condensed milk....the very essential ingredients that make horchata. Period. There was no need for the Chef to get involved over a drink, to begin with. A simple apology would've sufficed. His demeanor came off rude, narcissistic and defensive. Why is he so involved in trivial matters, such as a drink? Is it that slow in the kitchen? 🙄 If so, maybe you should reconsider your prices and authenticity. Sincerely,
💜A lover of TRUE AUTHENTIC Mexican cuisine 💜

This place is one of a kind. The chef helped with a big food order last minute. I was driving all day forgot to eat lunch. I ordered the pipian verde, never had it. What amazing food! Everything melted in my mouth and perfectly seasoned. The staff was amazing and the chef is talented beyond measure. This place is special. Try it, and you'll have a spot for life

I am so glad i found this restaurant with authentic & delicious Mexican food! The fundido is not pictured but it was cheesy and yummy with fresh homemade tortillas! We shared the enmoladas and cochinitas and both were absolutely delicious! We enjoyed their tres leches and fried ice cream for dessert, both were great but fried ice cream was my favorite! This place is amazing i will definitely be back! Apparently they serve different types of mole at lunch as well, which is very exciting!!

This is such a charming and authentic spot for delicious Mexican food! I’ve gone twice now for brunch and really like the chicken chilaquiles with green salsa and an egg on top. The guacamole is also great. It has a lot of lime and comes with chicharronés.. just YUM.
