My favorite Italian restaurant for decades! Very sad that Prego closed! Why?! Will Prego reopen at another location?! When and where?! Sure hope Prego reopens!

Came back to this place after a long time. The food was fabulous, fresh and authentic. I brought my mom to try it out and she fell in love with the food. We had pollo romano and Pesce Zucca.
I am sad to see this place getting shut and wish the owners the best and hope they will come back soon!

The vibe is very pleasuring. The food is definitely on point. The pasta was cooked perfectly and the bolognese sauce was very rich and hearty. Their tricolore salad is extremely refreshing. My only issue is that I wished they had tagliatelle for my bolognese instead of spaghetti or got fettuccine for me (I did order fettuccine bolognese) but I don't mind. I still enjoyed it.

Can't believe they're closing shop. Hope they move elsewhere - they city deserves their excellent food and service. Think they are truly underappreciated and Houston food critics aren't the smartest tools in the shed.
Can't believe the demise of Rice Village - they've all but ruined it. We had a work group who went to Prego's regularly and we had a reunion last meal there last evening. Excellent as always - going to miss you old friend.

Train the wait staff to offer the price for ‘market price’ items. When something is twice the average entree and it’s not offered upfront is very presumptuous on the part of the wait staff.

As a huge Italian food lover, i might be being nit picky but can’t say I was stoked about my lasagna being watery. Service and atmosphere is great but food was mediocre.

Just had a delicious lunch at PregoFor an appetizer I had the fried calamari, which was perfectly crispy. I also had the red snapper was cooked to perfection. It came with a bed of wilted spinach and pasta with a flavorful tomato sauce. Highly recommend!

we walked in and were quickly seated at the bar where I prefer as you normally get faster and better service. Well, this is where the Prego staff showed me otherwise.first, the bartender did a david Copperfield seven seconds after we sat down. Next, we were waited on by either Cheech or Chong. The dude was so high that he couldn't open his eyes all the way.next, the food came and was sunstandard in comparison to the upper tier price, and then the fun began. the manager must have revealed the hiding spot of David Copperfield as he began to berate his missing magical bartender and then said out loud for the entire restaurant mostly his staff that anyone who didn't want to be there could go home.I was told by several people I should visit this place unfortunately I will never listen to these people again.if you want to be overcharged under served and basically told to leave by bad service over cooked food and general malaise, then this is your place. Otherwise, I would skip it for sure.

This was my first time back in a few years and everything was still superb starting with the staff. Food is excellent too:)
Got a basic plate as it was the first time trying food there. It was just spaghetti and meatballs... It was so salty i could only eat about 5 bites until I just couldn't keep going. My friend got the veal and it was so oily/greasy that they couldn't finish it either. I don't know if it was just an off day for the cook or if that is the normal there but it was a huge waste of money and time.
