Not my favorite Ramen but it is good. I prefer a bit more fatty broth but that's a subjective thing it's definitely worth the money. Good beer.

I’m leaving this review 12 days later at 3am because I just had a flashback to the ramen and felt it was irresponsible not to inform the public.

So I specifically requested a Mi-So-Not with a Lemon Lime Maine root. The entire dwelling was practically empty with only few individuals so I expected my order to be correct as well as timely. I received my Mi-So-Not bowl to go. And my perceived drink in a quick fashion from friendly staff. However, once I already left. I noticed that my drink had a spicy tone that completely threw off my eating experience. Upon checking my order. I noticed that I had been served the wrong drink. A Maine Root spicy ginger blend. Not my Lemon Lime Main Root request. It was alr As much as I like dining at this location. I expect to get what I paid for especially when there are no excuses.

I like the ramen and the staff are always happy the price is good. If I needed to complain about anything it would be the ramen is never hot enough. Not spicy but always a little warm but never steaming.

Very warm vibe and good food. They have a lot of THC specialties that go with the food and drinks, if you're into that type of thing

I found the OG Tatsu-ya in Austin back in 2017 when I worked nearby. Since then I've eaten at Ramen Tatsu-Ya literally hundreds of times. It's the best thing I've ever eaten in my life.
Reviewers giving this place less than 5 stars are ordering the wrong things. You have two choices here: #4, the mi-so-hot or #5 the Tsukemen. I'm very glad that they've gone back to the original tsukemen recipe. There was a period where it wasn't so great.
I live in New England now and have eaten ramen all over the world. I've tried every ramen place from Boston to Bangor and none even come close to Tatsu-Ya. I've had ramen in S. Africa, Austria, France, Spain, et. al. and there is a large gap between Tatsu-Ya and 2nd best (maybe Anju Noodle Bar in Kittery, ME).
Mi-so-hot is my default. It's always good. Consistent between Tatsu-ya locations and over time. The chashu is excellent. The ajitama is by far the best I've ever had. Brussel sprouts go so well with the broth; trust me on this.
When I go back to the Houston area to visit family, I get several bowls to go (thankfully they started offering to-go during covid, before that it wasn't an option), freeze them, and bring them back in a cooler in my checked bag.

I’m writing this review out of concern…
I can yesterday around early lunch. I have been eating here for two years and order the exact same thing. The Curry any Skool…I take the mushrooms out. Yesterday it wasn’t the same. The broth was darker than its usually yellow golden color but I looked past it thinking maybe it had just been awhile since I order it. The broth did not taste the same. It tasted more like aluminum than the usual coconut ish flavor.
Later in the evening I developed a headache and chills into my body fully projectiled the ramen out of my body. I have never ate here and felt this way afterwards but something is wrong.
I noticed there were several new faces that I hadn’t seen before. It is possible the mixed up my broth. Either way this wasn’t normal and I’m afraid to return. For some reason the inside of my stomach was burning as if I had eaten something spicy…that ramen doesn’t have spice…
I definitely think this needs to be looked into

best ramen in Houston and it's not even close. I always get the spicy miso, the broth is incredible- addictingly rich, salty and spicy. Huge servings too so I always have leftovers

Price going up, service and food going down. Not coming back after so many years of eating here
