The fish tacos are really good, hot and fresh, but sometimes they skimp on the fish… in my opinion, the fish could be a little bigger… when I get my order of fish to go is a whole fish inside when I dine in It’s like they break my fish in half

I have been wanting to go to Redd’s for a while due to all the social media posts. Well today was the day my friend and I went for lunch. I always like to give black owned businesses a try but EVERY time I regret that I went and today was no different. The food was excellent but the nasty, rude, attitude of the girl working the front counter was enough for me to never return. Eye rolling, attitude when when we are just asking a question about menu items. Then it was not even 12:00 p.m. and the music was blasting. I ask if the music can be turned down just a little. She side eyed me and said dryly I can see. After about 3 minutes she reached down a turned it down some which was a lot better. More customers started coming in. Then a lady with a big wig came from the back walking around looking making eye contact, rolling her eyes but never spoke or said anything, same nasty attitude as the younger girl. Then she proceeded to go behind the counter talking to the young girl behind the counter.I looked up and they were looking at our table and the older lady turned the music back up louder than before I ask to turn it down. Trust and believe you don’t EVER have to worry about me patronizing Redd’s again!

We doubled backed just to try them out. The OPEN sign was on but the doors were locked. A young lady came out of her car to tell us that they were waiting for someone to come unlock the doors and open up. We went to a store a couple doors down to waste time. The same lady crossed us in the store and told us they were open now. We went back and the doors were still locked. There was someone inside that didn't acknowledge us at the door as we were standing there. We just left. Definitely wont try again.

I’m from New Jersey and my family dined here, first of all they welcomed us with open arms and smiles. Once we were seated they greeted us and brought our drinks. They took our orders and as we watched the game the atmosphere became more friendly welcoming us and making us feel like family. Then the food came out and presentation was awesome. Large portions and cooked to perfection. Juicy pork chops, golden brown, fish fried and flaky, the shrimp 🍤 large and tender and before long we were stuffed. Service was amazing my refill was on the table before I was ready and yes the tea was very sweet. We cheered for our team and Redds family was cheering with us. I highly recommend and appreciated everyone and everything. Can’t wait to come back to Houston to visit again and yes bringing more of our family and friends. Thank you all for a wonderful experience and evening. Love you guys.

I stopped in on Friday, as I was heading home. I am so glad I stopped. I think her name was Tay, I can’t remember the other ladies name but I truly enjoyed them and their service was great. I will be going back soon.

Restaurantji Recommends
My review is solely based on the attitude and response the lady gave me when I told her my wings were not fried evenly on both sides. Her response was absolutely disgusting.. we drove all the way from Pearland. It was our first time their and I was excited to try. First off my dude and I go to several high end restaurants and I'm not the type of customer to send food back to get more but clearly she thought I was .. her response was like I don't know what your talking about but I can remake your order . I didn't need you to remake anything. I needed you to check your attitude and be more empathetic. People mess up and taking accountability is something you should work on. I politely declined her offer to remake food and we were instantly ready to go. Everyone wants to open a business but no one wants to deal with the bad side of things. Learn how to communicate and not get so defensive. It's so many restaurants in Houston and we chose your spot and didn't feel appreciated and will never ever come back again. Also remember without customers you have no business. You could of just said I'm so sorry to hear that and addressed my issue but instead you were dismissive and unapologetic. My chicken was darker on one side than the other. That's all I was trying to tell you but instead you were just flat out rude.

Had a great time here. Came in for drinks and hookah. Asjia, at the bar, was very helpful and kind. Would definitely recommend coming in for the drink specials. Also the music had the vibes going.
