New owners and the Food is trash!! I paid 59.00 for a red snapper that looked and tasted old cold and salty They also gave me a Tablesoon of rice and cabbage they put 2 quarter size plantains. I called them to complain and got what sounded like a teenager and did not care NEVER AGAIN

First time visiting Reggae Hut well worth the stop. The stew chicken with rice and peas and mixed veggies was so delicious. Also, the beef patties and kola champagne were yummy.

Disappointed in myself that I did not take pictures as My love and I got our food to go because we have been out in Houston all day long and we're just ready to get back to our Airbnb. We got the stewed chicken and oxtails which comes with rice and peas and vegetables. We order the side of plantains which were very very good. We also ordered some of the homemade drinks which are traditional Caribbean drinks such as ginger beer and sorrel (I think that's how you spell it). They also offered other traditional Caribbean homemade drinks as well. The food came out piping hot as we had a 10 minute drive back to the Airbnb and it was still really hot and smoking. There is lots of seating there if you'd like to order in and stay with a wonderful variety of soca and reggae music. The mister is from the Caribbean and he highly recommended the food as well as the reggae Hut is operated and I presume highly owned by a member of the beautiful Caribbean. They held a conversation with one another and spoke about their hometowns so this isn't just a Houstonian creating this food it's someone who knows the culture! The staff was friendly and kind which is a big plus for me and something I definitely look for. They also have food trucks so be on the lookout for them as well.

The menu needs to be updated
The food is good I got jerk shrimp , jerk chicken , and rice and peas . But I wanted some Mac n cheese and they don’t have that at all . They also don’t have ackee, salt fish, bammy, sweet potatoes pudding , coconut cake and other items known to have in a Jamaican restaurant. It’s a lot of Jamaican food this restaurant doesn’t have and it’s supposed to be a Jamaican restaurant . Coming from a Jamaican women please add more Jamaican items to the menu

I did not enjoy this place. First off, the lady who greeted us was not nice and it seems rather uninterested to be there. The energy in the restaurant on this Monday night seemed very odd and I’m not sure if that’s normal. Now onto the food, the presentation was very bad. They gave cabbage which is supposed to be chopped , but it looked like they put the whole cabbage in the bowl and let it fall apart I’m talking big large pieces and it was not good. I ordered the curry chicken and it looked like they scooped it out and dumped it on my plate, I wish I had taken a picture because it looked like slop (I hate to sound mean but it did). My partner had the jerk chicken and it was extremely spicy. You couldn’t enjoy the flavor because it was so spiced. Lastly, the rice and peas had this weird flavor like powdery or something. Both dishes with a drink we’re about $42.
