Went to Remo’s to get a brisket baked potato and I said I will eat a few bites before I drive home which is about 45 minutes away.. Open the potato it’s warm not hot. Didn’t seem like it was cooked fresh that day... I told the cashier...Where is the butter and why is it not hot? The cheese is not melting..For $19! He tells me he can see the steam from looking at the potato from behind the counter and Im at the table!! I’m like are you serious right now? He said do you want another one,it will be the same! No I don’t want another one. I was irritated and no receipt was given. I guess I wanted the bake potato too bad.Its never right when you craving something..This was about 430pm on a Thursday and they were out of cabbage as well. The potato was not cooked that day. It was clunky. The potato was breaking up like it was old. I got the Brisket on the side at least that was decent.

Went inside this location yesterday and asked for the fish plate, mind you it was before 5pm, ( came waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay from the northside) the lady behind the counter smiled and said "sorry were out of fish" and just kept smiling and I'm upset because I had my taste buds set on fish😂 and it was all gone, to me that was kind of early to be out..everyone doesn't want to eat red meat and pork 24/7...... when you walk into the restaurant you are immediately hit with hot air, AC had to be out, dining in would've been brutal in this Houston heat. Back to the employees, they don't greet you upon entering their establishment which is rude! Because your coming to spend money with them! Black owned businesses hit real different when it comes to customer service unfortunately, it's like they feel as though they can lack in customer service and the food will make up for it! (like how Frenchy's have been doing for years, but their no longer good) I guess it's one or the other!!!!! You can't have both huh? 😒 Oh and this MY REVIEW. MY EXPERIENCE.

Today was my first time visiting ReMo’s. Firstly Food was mediocre at best, wasn’t good at all just decent, the service felt rushed. I also felt cheated on the portion sizes compared to the prices of everything. The “Greens” were actually turnips and they obviously were from a Can! Lastly, they had BMF playing on the TV in the lobby, which showed a Man explicitly having sex with a woman, and I had unfortunately I had my five year old with me, which was just not okay. (Definitely not kid-friendly)Just overall not a good experience, I honestly don’t think I will be back .
Waste of $21. Regret coming here honestly. Ordered the texas combination plate with ribs, brisket,green beans, and macaroni and cheese. First appearance was good the box was loaded & the ribs looked seasoned. The ribs themselves were good could DEFINITELY be better, but they’re edible. The brisket? Literally made me itch. It has small pieces of meat in between the fat. It gave me trypophobia. I wanted to throw up, I was so uncomfortable looking at it no exaggeration. The taste of the brisket is horrible too, it tastes boiled. NO seasoning just water & oil on top. I wish i went to subway near the store instead or starved. Even a pack of buldak noodles at home would’ve been a better option. They also do No Refunds. They exchanged my brisket for ribs which..i mean is a solution, but not one that I wanted because it’s not like they’re that great to have a 2 meat plate of them. I’m honestly so DISGUSTED and disappointed. Also there’s different days for sides and certain meals. I wanted okra and sausage, but today was not okra and sausage day.

I have picked up food to go from this restaurant on a couple of occasions and was satisfied with it. Today brought a different experience that led into disappointment. I ordered a combo plate and one of the meats was very dry and salty and the side dish tasted awful. When I drove back from my home and asked for a refund, the lady and gentleman at the counter stated that they do not refund based on their policy. When I asked if the policy was posted anywhere, they said no. I am not in the legal field but do know you cannot enforce a policy that doesn’t exist. However, I didn’t want to lose my money but leery to try another dish. It resulted with me agreeing on an option they offered which was better tasting. Point: If you ever visit here and is not happy with the food, this is one place that will not give your money back. I would guess once the money is in their pocket, the customer, no matter what will never get it back. Bad business.
