Ripcord is one of my favorite gay bars in Montrose. I am always greeted at the door with a hug from Dustin. The best doorman in the biz! He keeps everything organized at the door, especially when it is busy. The bartenders are all fantastic, and the patio is one of the nicest in Montrose.

I’ve seen some negative reviews about this bar, but honestly, if someone was refused entry or asked to leave, there was likely a valid reason. The security team here is professional and doesn’t act without cause.
This place has been my go-to spot since 2017. It’s laid-back, the service is consistently great, and the overall vibe is fun and welcoming. One of my favorite things to do is people-watch—this bar is perfect for that. You’ll see folks from all walks of life, dressed in every style imaginable, which makes for a really interesting and entertaining night out.

I beg you to please enact a leather/shirtless dress code for the patio at the very least. Please preserve our space. We were just friends having a good time and they called us drunk which NONE of us were. So I was sitting at a table talking and laughing with my sister who I have not seen since Memorial Day weekend. And the security came outside to us mid conversation and we told us we had to leave. We were not drunk. In fact, we had just 2 drinks. We were just gays having fun. And we were kicked out of the establishment . Never will I ever spend a dime in this place again
This time was good. The security guard used to give me a hard time to ge in. I am glad he was not there.
