So glad Houston Restaurant Week happened to introduce us to this GEM! Emily was an outstanding server: knowledgeable, personable, and observant. Loved the mushroom toast appetizer and the Texas peach appetizer!! Entrees were equally amazing. The pork chop was generous, tasty, and cooked to perfection. The mezzi rigatoni with short rib was rich and very satisfying. The desserts were the perfect ending: donut holes with coffee ice cream and caramel sauce, and the southern butter cake with stewed fruit. We WILL be back (for more)!

One of the best restaurants in Houston! Very cozy, friendly and cheerful. Food is fresh, delicious and surprising. Atmosphere is enjoyable. Service is professional! Deserts are out of this world!

The steak and pork chop were both great! The corn risotto and some other sides lacked salt but tasted good. Service was excellent and love the new atmosphere.

Love the small setting. Server was amazing (friendly and aware of the need for space). This was our second time there and loved it even more.

All three of us had the Chef's Tasting Menu meal and shared the selections. For the first course we had mussels, prosciutto & pear salad, and the famous cauliflower. All were good but the overall favorite was the cauliflower. For the second course we had the salmon, duck, and truffled ricotta gnudi. All were very good but the favorite was probably the gnudi. For dessert we got the lemon tart and the sticky toffee pudding. Both were equally enjoyable (we noted that neither of the desserts was overly "sugary"; the subtle sweetness was refreshing). Our wine choice for the meal was Roco Gravel Road Pinot Noir, from the Willamette area; it was a typical Willamette Pinot Noir (almost a Tempranillo in taste). Our waitress, Layla, did a great job. She was very knowledgeable of the food and wine, and was very attentive without hovering. The other wait staff was also appropriately attentive. The only down-side of the night's experience was the parking; spaces at the restaurant were VERY tight, and parking in the neighborhood was almost nonexistent. Our overall dining experience was WONDERFUL!!

Still the best neighborhood gem in the area. You have to keep going back to try the different seasonal menu items.

We’ve been here probably 7 or 8 times and it’s great every time. Each time they change the menu there’s always something interesting to try. Emily is amazing and is super hospitable. Highly recommend Roost

Always a great dining experience at Roost. We enjoy the way they change their menu every couple of months. Always fresh and delicious. The people who work at Roost are kind and helpful. Great place to dine in Houston if you haven't discovered it yet.

Creative and talented chef. Unique taste pairings and quite fresh. Of all the things we tried I hate to admit the wagyu burger was my favorite. The char on the burger was good. Great blend. Superb service that cannot be beat from the staff.

This place is amazing. The food is absolutely delicious and we have such a good time every time we go. It is one of our favorite spots to go to for date night. Emily is the best and always is so kind and considerate when I’m being indecisive. She has such good suggestions on what to order. I would love to see more vegan friendly options but they have great ways to make substitutions for me.

Quaint little house restaurant. Very nice ingredient variety on a small menu, which they refresh every 8 weeks. For the price, quality is exceptional... Dinner for 2 cost $50-100 less than at others of similar quality.
Also a solid global wine variety for a neighborhood spot. They accommodated a special menu request without a second thought.
Worth a visit!

Great little spot tucked away in montrose. Great service and even better food. Steak was cooked to perfection and will be back again!

The food was awesome as usual and because we were early it was happy hour and the noise level was very low. We need to come here more often.
