Love the food. Alert! Men’s bathroom concerns for privacy the door doesn’t seal when closed! Service is lacking with in professional eating while taking food orders.
They screamed bye when leaving the restaurant sarcastically.

Unfortunately i must stop being a customer here. I am seeing a lack of value toward food safety. Today i came in and witnessed the person handling my food consistently wipe her nose with her hands and touch kitchen gear. This was after my food was given to me. I mentioned it to the lady wiping her nose and she tried to reply as if it were ok at first. I literally had to ask to see her wash her hands. This isnt proper and causes major alarms. I have been a steady customer here since it was called Vietnam Poblano. Sucks how when the family leaves the employees dont adhere to safety standards. If she is feeling sickly and cant stop touching her face then a mask is appropriate.

Quick, tasty, and popular.
Service and atmosphere:
This place offers good number of seating places but they get taken quickly during lunch time.
The restaurant was clean and staff were operating efficiently.
Food and drinks:
Good selection of various options. You can also build your own box/bowl. The ordering process was easy and quick. The food came fairly fast considering how busy they were. The food tested good.
You can order soft drink with your meals.
Pricing:
$$ affordable and definitely good spot for quick bite or takeaway.

Placed an ubereats order and I realized I made a mistake of choosing the base. After calling and asking to change one of the plates to fried rice, they said they couldn’t take it out BUT they did give me 16oz of fried rice on the house! I’ve coming here for years and never once I had issue. The one time that something went wrong (it was my fault, not theirs!) they still helped with no hesitation. Thank you Roostar!

I regularly attend this place and order the grilled chicken box that comes with an eggroll and this time I ordered an extra set of eggrolls. Let’s just say there were not the same , old, dry, and nasty looking at first sight. I called in hopes to exchange for the right ones and I was told since I left them with them there was nothing they can do.

Had a family gathering and had to feed 15-20 people soon. Placed an online order for over 15 boxes/sandwiches (including vegetarian options) plus sides and everything was made exactly as we had ordered online. I called to confirm they could make the large order and they told me I could come by in 20ish minutes and pick up all the boxes. Called back a few minutes later to add another box to the order and they said everything was ready to be picked up ahead of schedule. The food was delicious and made exactly to order, the customer service was phenomenal, and it was ready super quickly and fed an entire family gathering in less than 45 minutes. Highly recommend Roostar for their food and awesome employees!

I love this place.Growing up eating Banh Mi, this place is always consistent and fresh. It has a slight different spin to the taste in comparison to the traditional Banh Mi, but still tastes great. Whatever they used in the Pate made it taste so savory.
The customer service is great. The young guys that were working there were attentive at asking if everything was good.
I live in Cypress and always come down for my Banh Mi fix here when I can.
They should really consider opening a location around Cypress on 290. 😊

Roostar is not a place of polish or pretense. It is, quite simply, a bánh mì haven—focused, unadorned, and deeply committed to doing one thing exceptionally well. In a city rich with global flavors, this modest shop has become my benchmark, the standard against which all other bánh mì are measured.
Over years of travel and countless comparisons, no other has matched Roostar for sheer volume, flavor, and desirability. The sandwiches arrive generous and tightly composed, layers of savory meats, bright pickles, herbs, and sauce working in concert. The bread offers the right balance of crisp shell and yielding crumb, holding together under the weight of its filling while still shattering lightly with each bite. These are sandwiches that announce themselves boldly, with flavors that kick and linger.
And yet, as remarkable as they are, they stop just short of obsession. I do not find myself fantasizing about them from afar, nor longing for them when absent. But when I am in Houston, I make a point of going—every time. I have done so dozens of times, and that consistency of return speaks volumes. Roostar has earned its place as a ritual, a reliable pleasure I would not willingly miss.
What stands out most is their consistency. Visit after visit, the quality holds. No drifting flavors, no shrinking portions, no off days of note. In a category where variation is common, Roostar remains steadfast. I have yet to find another shop that truly compares.
For some, this may well be a five-star destination. It has all the elements: excellence, reliability, and distinction within its niche. For me, however, it just misses that final, ineffable hook—the moment of transcendence that turns admiration into devotion. It is outstanding, but not transporting.
Still, Roostar sets the bar. And being the bar is no small achievement.
My rating: ★★★★☆
1 star — I will never return.
2 stars — If nearby, I might return, but without urgency.
3 stars — Worth a visit if in the area, though not a destination in itself.
4 stars — Worth going out of your way to enjoy.
5 stars — I would fly around the world for this meal.

Ordered the special banh mi (pork belly, ham, pate) and bulgogi fries. Everything tasted great. Wish there was a little more bulgogi on the fries. Their lychee tea is really good! The grilled pork banh mi is my favorite. Staff is nice.

The food is usually always good . Today I went in ordered a whole sandwich and side of rice . This is the second time I go and the whole staff is just rude and not friendly staring ugly . I was sitting there waiting for my order and a lady Said “ what is she here waiting for “ I found that kinda rude bc well obviously my food … that’s what people do at restaurants wait for their food … even my husband heard it and thought it was rude . Then I get home and my sandwich is not even cut , no sauce on my bread I’m not coming back and it’s sad bc I love the food but the people make it uncomfortable
