The food here is usually very good, and we do take out a lot. I love the banh mi and the chargrilled pork with vermicelli. The soup is inconsistent. Sometimes there is more liquid than stock in the soup and it’s not very hearty. But when it’s good, it’s really good.
This has slowly become one of my favorite sandwich spots! They have amazing Banh Mi sandwiches, and I've tried the chicken and beef versions. The chicken is always tender and juicy in the best way possible, and the beef is great as well. The crunch of leftover bills in your pocket coinsides with the crispy bread sammy you just put in your to go bag. Everyone seems to leave this restaurant with a smile and in a better mood.

Just set accurate expectations: this is not home style or authentic Vietnamese food. It’s loosely Vietnamese inspired fast food with very intense seasoning profile. Got a box thinking I would get something balanced and tasty, but the flavors don’t really blend. Ex. a thick creamy jalapeño cilantro dip with intensely seasoned lemon pepper/garlic/msg dust over vermicelli … it’s too much. I like classic style better.Individual components can be tasty, if not a little heavy and unhealthy - like the fries. If you love eating a bag of taquitos, I think you’ll like this place.Vegetarian options: Got crispy tofu. It’s ok.
I got the pork bahn mi and it was very good. They seem to go heavy on the mayo though.

Delicious! Satisfying! The Best! Tasty! Flavorful! Yummy! There are so many ways to describe the absolute satisfaction that you get after eating at Roostar. So many delicious things to pick from, you can't go wrong. Hands down, my favorite Banh-Mi Sandwich in all of Houston. With locations all over the city, this is the first and original spot. Its been amazing to see their well deserved growth. When you walk into this location, you will see nice decor, and tons of awards all framed up. In other words, Roostar has the receipts! They've been recognized for their food perfection on multiple occasions, and its evident the minute you take your first bite. My go-to is a Chicken Banh-Mi, I'll usually order it without jalapeños (since I'm a weakling when it comes to spice), but I'll pay extra to add some avocados and pate. Goodness, just the thought of all these ingredients together...makes my mouth water. Their egg rolls are fabulous, so I'll usually get an order, accompanied with lettuce and their amazing sauce. You wrap your cold and crunchy lettuce around a hot and crisp egg roll, and then dip it in the sweet sauce. Chef's kiss! Perfection at every bite. I love the various tea and soda options you have when ordering a fountain drink. On previous occasions, I've ordered some Vietnamese Coffee. However, on my last visit, I decided to spice things up and get a Thai Tea. The bread they use, the service, and quality of food are some of the things that have made Roostar so successful these past years. It is heaven at every bite. You just can't go wrong. I've been a fan for many years now, and while they have expanded to many locations that are much bigger than their OG spot. This one brings memories, I remember when this place used to be called 'Vietnamese Poblano'! Nowadays, this location has expanded a bit to include more seating, merchandise, nice art all around that shows the streets of Vietnam and cool motivational phrases, (not to mention framed awards and newspaper mentions, the receipts of greatness!) Great food thy name is Roostar!

Delicious, I'm always happy to eat there. The place is clean, the people are friendly and the food is delicious. A bit high for the area but worth it.
