I was very disappointed with the lack of attention to an important detail. When making the reservation, I indicated that we were celebrating my son’s 18th birthday. Unfortunately, nothing was acknowledged during the entire dinner—no greeting, no mention, nothing. For a special occasion, that kind of recognition matters, and it was completely missed. Great food, but the experience fell short on making the evening feel special.

If you are looking for a nuanced approach to steak, this is the place for you. This Uruguayan restaurant will satisfy your cravings for South American cuisine in ways the original Churrasco’s aspired to. All your favorite cuts of meat are there, as well as other tempting menu items.the staff is knowledgeable and very friendly, dedicated to help you explore their wide selection. Even if you are not already going to the City Center area, it is worth putting Sal y Pimienta on your radar. Reasonable prices for fantastic food is a winner. And that is saying something in Houston.

The food was okay, but the service was terrible. The waiters treated us horribly. We tried to speak to them five times to order something to drink because the food was already on the table, and it was like they were invisible. This happened on February 11, 2025, so you can see there weren't many people there. To make it clear they weren't too busy, they didn't care about customer service. Other people, like my wife and I, were outraged by the terrible service. If they don't want to work, they should take the day off and come back later. It was awful.

Terrible customer service. I ordered my food and they didn’t even ask me if I wanted to add a drink, and then they took forever to attend us. The waiters were awful, they don’t know how to deal with the public. I definitely won’t be coming back!!!.

Me and my husband went fo our anniversary lunch on sunday ad we sat outside in the patio, the weather was perfect. The service, the attention, the food was great. we really had a very good time and had a nice intimate and special celebration. food was delicious and drink were on top!! Totally recomended!

Beautiful interior that gives you the inclination of a really good experience - but the food itself here is pretty average. I honestly didn’t find the Entraña to be special in any way and the side tasted like a side you buy from a supermarket. $11 for their empanadas which are really small and not all that flavorful is pretty insane. The servers also were pretty awkward and I had like 4 people that came and went - no idea who my server was at all.

I don’t really recommend this place. I live right down the street and was really curious but I don’t think I’d be coming back to be honest.

Definitely check out Sal y Pimienta. The food was amazing! Chimichurri was spot on. Steak, delicious. Calamari, perfection! Milanesa Napolitana spectacular and generously sized. And for dessert you MUST try the Maca souffle and the 4 leches. If I could give it more than 5 stars, I would! Great atmosphere and super friendly staff. We will absolutely be back!

We came in for late lunch and enjoyed nice steak with crabmeat and shrimps. Russian salad tasted authentic, great wine selection and very good dessert
