Saltgrass Steak House at 520 Meyerland Plaza is our go to when we are in Houston! We have never had a bad experience and we have continued to dine there often. Our latest visit was 1/2/2025, but something changed. Stephany was our server for the first time, and I can tell you it will not be our last time! She welcomed us with a beautiful smile and an awesome sense of humor, which we greatly appreciate! We felt blessed to have met her! The food, drinks, service, management and atmosphere were excellent, as usual and we are greatly looking forward to our next visit!!!!

Waited almost forty minutes for a pick up order. Queso only. Queso. I arrived, informed them I placed an online order. Was told “oh you placed it for x time.” Me, already aware, as the website does not allow rush orders. Host radios the kitchen and informs them I am early. Conveniently as I approach 30 minutes I ask the hostess to cancel my order, as this is quite ridiculous. She reappears and informs me my food is coming out. 3 more minutes pass before my food is delivered. Would not recommend ordering take out, you’re not a priority even if it is $20 queso.

This is one of the best Salt Grass Restaurants I have been to. The food is on point, and everyone is friendly from the hosts to the wait staff.

Saltgrass is a long time favorite of mine. It's a solid casual steakhouse, at a fair price, with a little something for just about anyone. I've Never had a bad meal here at the Meyerland location and this last time was no exception. Our server Sowan was excellent. He was very friendly and attentive. The only thing I'd say against the place is that it's very loud inside, especially when it's crowded but that's sort of an "it is what it is" kind of thing. Be sure to bring some extra appetite for the freshly baked bread that they bring to the table, and I'd recommend the T-bone steak or the bbq ribs.

Wouldn’t eat at this location again. They were really busy and they took a long time to bring out the food we waited more than 30 min, the kids burger and fries was too salty. Didn’t bother get the server/couldn’t get the server to come get us new food because of how busy it seemed.

Pretty good place to get the usual steak and sides. This location is super busy so you might have a longer than expected wait from time to time.

The staff is usually pretty nice, mostly consisting of younger folk in the to go area. And waitstaff can be overwhelmed but usually very proficient.

The food is pretty excellent, I’d recommend the NY strip and the smoked mac & cheese. There are also dessert options, although they are frequently out of stock.

Vegetarian options: Salads that’s about it

Dietary restrictions: Not great for diets

Parking: A mid sized parking lot wedged between other stores in the highland village lot

Kid-friendliness: Very kid friendly

Wheelchair accessibility: Yes, there is a wheelchair ramp, bathroom, and tables.

We recently had an 80th birthday celebration for our mom. Saltgrass is her favorite restaurant. We had at least 20 people in our party. We had to change our reservation due to inclement weather. Saltgrass was more than accommodating. We were able to sit in a private area of the restaurant which made our celebration even more fun. The service was excellent, and the food was quite tasty! Our servers were patient, kind, and professional. I wish that I had gotten their names. The only name that I remember is Cassaundra. All of the servers were excellent. We had a wonderful time, and our mom was happy. We will be returning to this Saltgrass location for future gatherings.

I've loved Saltgrass since I was little in Austin (before it blew the eff up). But, you can never go wrong with a good steak. They have options of cuts. The bread. The butter. I cook a lot so this place definitely gave me a free night :) Lastly, my server was so sweet. I don't remember her name. But she had dread locs and was so kind. This place is a chain. So, if the ppl in there are good? Then, Saltgrass is a good place for being solo or the family ❤️
