First thing I noticed was the bouncer which checked ID regardless of how old you are which is good bc the big star bar down the street doesn’t and there are always underage kids there.

Great exterior patio seating area.

Bartender ate polite and professional.

Customers seem nice even to small groups if first timers.

Parking is plenty but on busy night it is hard to find an available spot.

No drugs unlike big star bar down the road

More conservative crowd so none of that “we hate the yuppies taking over the neighborhood crowd type thing” which we experienced at the bug star bar down the toad.

Not one person asked us if we wanted narcotics unlike big star bar.

The security/doorman was very accommodating to our group.

The only reason I didn’t give it a 5 star is bc the pool table sticks so not all the balls drop plus it is a two dollar fee per game which is a little strange.

Great little dive bar. Not super busy, staff was amazing! Cheap drinks, especially for the Heights.

Not prepared for the Halloween crowd, bet they lost an additional $2600 because of it.

What a great place! The vibe is excellent. Try and catch a band there on the weekend or just go have a couple Lone Stars after a long day.

Great live music! It was outdoor where you are seated to hear the live band so extremely hot with our Texas weather. The had industrial fans spread out though. Totally country vibes

“Umm, umm, umm….umm, umm I love this bar!” The late great Toby Keith said exactly what I was thinking when I first visited Shady Acres Saloon!

Camille was my bartender and was very nice. She took great care to make sure my ice cold Coors banquet was ready for me! They had live music in the evening. No cover charge! The band took the stage just as the temperatures dropped at little, the evening breeze picked up, and the sun started heading below the horizon. This place sets up for the perfect Houston evening setting to enjoy a casual Texas sunset, with nice people and great live music! Will definitely be coming back! If you are in The Heights be sure to check this place out - you won’t be sorry!

It was OK. It's too hot for this time of year for that type of bar. Otherwise, I enjoyed myself.
