The food was good, and service was okay, although the server seemd to be a recent hire and did not have much waitstaff training. Prices were less than expected at a Pappas Seafood Restaurant. The food was good - seafood empanadas and onion ring appetizers, fried oysters, and grilled redfish and shrimp. The Greek salad side salad was good, but I didn't like the brussels sprout salad - it may have been better if the brussels sprouts were grilled. The happy hour frozen planter's punch was also good.

Sorry they went to a more casual dining experience. Some of their entress that I loved on no longer there or they don't taste the same. Will not go there again, just go to the other Pappa's, Why did they do this. They didn't lower the price so why change the appearance and everything?

Pappas is doing everything right!! The food is outstanding, restaurant is casual while being comfortable and very nicely decorated, and the service is top notch!! So many options on the menu and definitely something for everyone! Cannot wait to go back!! The salmon was the BEST I have ever eaten!!

Service is somewhat of an issue. I always sit in the front near the bar area. Typically the waitstaff has difficulty getting back to us. However, the food is amazing. We stopped in to get a bite while traffic was at its peak. We had oysters that had been handpicked and they were awesome. We also ordered the calamari appetizer which was delicious. The drinks were tasty and hit the spot.
On the positive side the atmosphere is nice the wait staff is friendly and parking is excellent. In short a good facility. Three of us went here on Friday for lunch based on the recommendation of one in our party who lives in the area I do not think I have had a lower quality meal in Houston. Based on the reviews maybe we caught it at the wrong time. My buddy and I had the shrimp poboys,as is tradition in this part of town, my wife had the grilled chicken salad. The bread for the sandwiches was so stale that neither of us ate it we just picked the shrimp off. I should point out that my buddy is an ex marine who could put down a road kill armadillo when he is in food mode. The shrimp was edible. The salad was small for the price which was fortunate as it contained the recommended salt allowance for at least a decade. I would have expected the server to ask why we did not eat the sandwich bread but it was a kitchen issue so we tipped him well and went on our way We also ordered baked oysters as an appetizer but those disappeared so fast,owing to the formerly mentioned marines eating habits, that I did not get a chance to sample

We came in for dinner. The first thing our server did was go over the six items they were out of. Then we were told that they no longer had bread but if we wanted garlic toast it would cost us $5. My daughter and husband ordered salads. My daughters Greek salad was swimming in dressing. There was so much dressing that she poured it onto a separate plate. My husband said his was fine. Both “large” salads looked like side salads rather than entrees. I ordered the grilled redfish. It was well prepared and moist. The green beans with it were also good. I asked for squash instead of rice wanting to avoid the carbs. I got potatoes instead of squash. I didn’t bother to say anything because I just wanted out of there. The server was nice but slow. He did not really answer the questions we had about the menu. So why bother to tell him he messed up my order?

The Cobb salad with shrimp can’t be beat. Omg it’s so good. The blue crab combo looked amazing and hubby said it was great. Service is really outstanding . No wait on. sat night. Love this place.

Was hungry for some good southern catfish. This was apparently not the place to fulfill my hankering. The coleslaw was good, the shrimp was good but the catfish was so bland! This is the south and the south always uses spices to add flavor to food! Someone just doesn’t get it there. I’m sure next time in Houston I’ll do my homework for great catfish before I get there and Pappas won’t be on the list.

We went to celebrate our anniversary. Our waitress was outstanding a d helped us select delicious meals. I ordered scallops which were not on the menu. There was no problems doing that, and our waitress even offered several different ways to have them prepared. We loved our meal, a d the portions were very generous. It is expensive, but we will go back.
