This has been my place to go, until today. I came here to read the comments and, to my surprise, most of them express today's experience. I got yelled at by the gentleman behind the counter. I was making a valid complaint, asking for a reasonable amount of protein on my plate. Ultimately, I decided to turn around and leave the plate half served before even paying for it. I'm sorry but not sorry, I'm not coming back to Simon's Cafe.

Mean ass Staff. Small protein portions with a starch. All sides are Starches accept for broccoli. The only person is nice the the Women. Many co-workers dont visit bc of the mean ass Gentlemen. I probably won’t go back either. They close up before 1:00

? This restaurant is conveniently located in the Allen Center's section of the Downtown Tunnel system. ? The employee appeared eager to serve, which encouraged me to stop by. ? The mustard greens were excellent; I could have enjoyed two servings. ? The pasta was cooked to perfection. ? However, the Southwest Chicken was disappointing. The chicken was dry, and the sauce did not suit my taste.

Oh my God!!! Got a plate with hair in my food.returned it showing man at the counter the hair (seemed likely his based on hair color and length). He said accidents happen and asked if I wanted another plate. No, wanted money back. He told the girl working to refund my money which she did. I left the Styrofoam container on the counter and went to the restaurant next door in the food court. I ordered there and then stepped back in view of their counter and alacarte cafe style serving. He was putting the food that I had taken bites of before finding the hair (from the Styrofoam container) back into the cafe trays! I confronted him in shock, he said no that was something else. Needless to say I am floored.

Hosts are very mean and difficult to deal with. Above all they serve according to race even if you are standing in line. Food is under cooked.
The food isn't trendy or glamorous, but it's tasty and reliable. There's seldom a line at lunch, and you can grab your meal quickly and still have time to enjoy it. For people wanting something low carb, there are steamed veggies and grilled chicken options. In summary...a quiet, fast and efficient place to get a decent meal in the downtown tunnels at a reasonable price.
