The food was good but very overpriced!! While the server was pleasant the service was terrible. Took a while to get a second glass of wine as well as an extra order of bread. Sadly we won't be going back!
Service was slow, die to under-capacity or inexperience of staff We booked for slot at 8pm, got or meal at 10pm, which was an online ordered rib-eye as they had run out of steak... Creative solutions, willingness, but please don't ruin people's evening like that
Worst restaurant experience in Houston. Food was bad and cold. Service extremely horrible from the beginning to the end.
Food was tasty, music perfect , place has enough room and the seating is good. In order to get drinks I had to go to the bar for them seating on it. I don't know if it was the lack of service or service in training ... took an hour to get drinks and another to get food. It wasn't too crowded. I'll will give it another try ... besides the service everything else was very nice. I'm hoping they got it together ❤️
Absolutely horrendous experience! My girlfriend and I spent 45 minutes of our lives here that we may never get back again. Had a reservation but when greeted by hostess no table was available so we were seated at a high top in a secondary room. There was no waiter for our entire room until one couple forced a bartender to start taking their order and he felt guilty so he made rounds around the whole room. I was told on the phone we wouldn't have to do the set menu for Valentine's Day but the bartender told me that wasn't the case. My girlfriend and I placed drink orders that didn't make it to the table in 15+ minutes. We never even got waters. We saw one couple get the courage to get up and leave so we followed suit. Spent $5 tipping a valet who provided the best service of the evening. Zero stars.
We booked a prepaid 3-course Valentine's Day dinner at Simone's and man - I was really looking forward to it. We were quickly and severely disappointed. We were seated immediately and then nothing - no one came by to offer us a drink, a water, take our order. We noticed that no one else in the room had drinks or food either. After about 30 minutes I approached the hostess to see what was going on and requested a refund as we were pretty set on leaving, but she grabbed who I assume to be a manager and he apologized and said he'd come to our table to take our order right away. He did - and then we STILL waited another 30 minutes for even a water to arrive. Yes, we sat there for an hour waiting for a water. Eventually everything came out and the food was okay, but not worth the price of the event or the disappointing experience. Others there were clearly frustrated too: some left, some never received one of the courses and had to request them multiple times, some people (including us) ended up receiving parts of our meal before others who had been there longer. If you're putting together a special event like this, your service has got to be on point. Will not be back.
Very poor all the way around. Valentines dinner. Small crowd. Fixed menu. Food was cold and tasteless. Wait staff appeared to have no clue as to what they were doing. 2.5 hours total experience and it was bad from beginning to end. Seriously it was like we were in an episode of Gordon Ramsey kitchen night mare. Do yourself a favor and do not go.
Had an amazing date night! The ambiance was perfect for socializing and getting to know someone. The vibe was great warm, inviting, and intimate, making for a truly memorable experience. Highly recommend!
The worst wine bar that I have ever been too! The food was mediocre and the owner was so rude. Went here to celebrate my sister landing her first corporate role after college and the ended horribly. I booked this reservation so that I could you a $100 coupon that I received from Open Table because I have so many points but was unable to use the coupon because the server did not follow instructions and tried to change the entire bill with the coupon which did not work and I ended up having to pay the full bill. So after some back and forth the owner was rude and nasty and did not try to help whatsoever so I paid out and when I was trying to get my car from valet I was rushed by the owner demanding that I resign the check which I refused because he was so rude. He then instructed the valet to not give me my car keys and proceeded to call the police on me when I did nothing wrong! The police came and basically told him I did nothing wrong and did not commit a crime and that they can’t force me to resign the check. He called the police with the hopes that they would harm me on his behalf! I am a frequent fine diner and I HAVE NEVER been treated so poorly for no reason! If I were you I’d avoid this shady wine bar and go somewhere better with better service and non mediocre food! Houston is a rough town but there are much better places to wine and dine!!
**RESPONSE TO OWNER**
Wow what a very unprofessional and dishonest response from the business owner but I wouldn’t expect nothing less from a just breaking even small business in the middle of Rice Village that’s struggling to compete with surrounding better quality restaurants and bars, with your tattered base boards and dirty floors! Doesn’t matter if the review is a year late as it’s my bad experience as a customer with your business! Let’s be clear I am a frequent diner around Houston and I always book through Opentable and behave at all restaurants accordingly and have never had any issues until covert racist ass Simone on sunset! Your cameras do now show anything unusual besides me waiting on the police that you called on me because I refused to re-sign the reprinted receipt that I paid out already. I didn’t switch cards, I gave your business a $100 coupon that I received from Opentable for having so many points because as I stated I am a frequent diner, which your server did not input properly so I had to pay the entire bill on my card! The owner got upset because I refused to re-sign the reprinted check and instead of being helpful got nasty for no reason and then decided to call the police because he wasn’t getting what he wanted! Your servers kept coming to me begging me to re-sign the preprinted check before the police got there so that I could leave before it escalated but I refused because of principle! I also did not clean my plate lol because I sent food back due to it being fried in old oil so please stop it! Your food is trash and so is your attitude! My sister never apologized to you because I was not drunk or in the wrong as her and I shared 2 bottles of wine in celebration of her new job. The police asked you how many drinks I had and you told them 2 bottles of wine insinuating that I consumed them by myself and was not sharing them with another person. And since I did not pay my bill then why did the police tell you that there was nothing that they could do because me not re-signing a check is not a crime and let me leave UNSCATHED if I did not pay my check? It’s illegal to take my keys which you knew and that’s why your manager gave them back to me as soon as the police arrived as to not be penalized! And my memory isn’t hazy you’re just a dishonest and crooked struggling business competing with better restaurants in Rice Village it’s only a matter of time before your doors shutter. I hope that you have the 2025 that you deserve lol

Cute, intimate place. Food was good, cocktails were great. Customer service was lacking. It wasn’t even mentioned by the waitress, but they charged 20% gratuity for our party of 5. Good thing we caught that before adding another tip. Looking back at the menu, it does say they do this on parties of 6 or more. There’s no problem with this policy on any group size except it’s good to let your customers know in advance. Our first waiter/bartender was pretty decent but when it switched to the waitress, that’s when customer service went downhill quick. She didn’t check on us much, and she didn’t seem like she wanted to be there working. When it came time for dessert, a chai latte was asked for and she said it could only be cold (but we had ordered a hot one earlier) and we had to get up to ask the bartender and he said it was available hot or cold. Also, when the other dessert orders came out, she didn’t even place them in front of the person that ordered them. Sadly, the customer service was a turnoff even though everything else was good. Owner needs to be aware that customer service is the key factor to success after acing quality food and having a nice, clean, comfortable atmosphere.

Gorgeous little bar with a great atmosphere. Loved their customer service. We ordered chicken lollipops and the smoke duck pizza. Food was delicious. I truly recommend this place

This place is very nice, intimate setting. The lights are dimmed inside which set a very chill mood. I like the drinks here they are made very well. I recommend the key lime martini and the Sunshine in Oaxaca drink. The food has been delicious and dessert is great! Sunday nights they have salsa dance classes… the only reason I’m giving a four is that parking is limited. Other than that I definitely recommend this place.

Our group has been here before but make sure you double check everything before you make a reservation. They don’t have any flexibility or grace for operator error/mistakes which is fine (business is business) but consumers should be mindful when making your reservation.
Nice little spot, with great food, intimate setting. Nicely drinks and wine, the food was a pleasant surprise, Rockefeller oysters were delicious. Will definitely return, might even try the Sunday salsa night
