This was my go to place when I craved Chinese BBQ or for party event. However, since the new owner took over, the food quality has gone way down. It’s a shame cause now I have no other place to go for Chinese BBQ.

Sui Lap used to be so great. I used to eat there weekly but I recently returned and things have changed drastically in terms of the customer service. I believe there are new owners. The food is still but no food is good enough and Houston has too many great food choices to put up with rude service as soon as you cross the threshold. The woman at the register who takes the orders is next level rude. Because of her I will never return to Sui Lap

We got the Peking duck and roast pork. Both were dry and not much flavor unfortunately.

Had the feeling of a small Vietnamese cafe straight out of Hanoi . The cashiers and servers were a little stuck in their element and wasn’t very talkative just quick to serve you to go. If you go don’t sit and eat just get it to go

Their barbecued pork and roasted duck are absolutely terrific. I have been getting take out from them for years, and it is always excellent.

I had been eating at this place for over 30 years. I have watched it passed on down to the younger generations and the food was always consistently good. Now that they have sold out to the new owners, the food is not good at all. I drive from LaMarque to eat and l won’t be eating there anymore. The Peking duck was awful, the bok choy was mushy and the beef tripe was raw and full of cornstarch. Also, the Peking Duck appeared to be covered in food coloring.

I went for the 1st time. Trying to make a decision on what I wanted. Lady got a bit of attitude. I was trying to understand what she was saying (she had a strong accent). But I won't be going back.

Great to-go lunch for $21 feeding 2, served within a few minutes. Duck was flavorful with decent crispness on the skin. Fine-grained rice was very tasty (duck broth?), and of course there was bok choy. Also 1/2 pound of quite good char siu, not too sweet, not dried out. Will be doing this again....

best roast duck anywhere. I have been eating their wonderful food since I was 10 years old, I'm 60 now!
