Living nearby Slowpokes is a huge reason why my wife and I moved to the apartments we now live in. This coffee shop is one of the best in the city. The vibes are consistently relaxed and friendly, the service is always personable and kind, the coffee is always great. The shop strikes a great balance between aesthetic and cozy hipster interior. Slowpokes is truly the place to be.

I stopped in for the first time yesterday. I was able to park right outside the door. The service was quick and polite. The coffee was amazing! The roast was smooth and didn’t have any acid like taste. Highly recommend!

The place has great ambience but the food and service are not commensurate to the pricing. The desserts didn't look and taste fresh even though I asked before ordering. They also brought out half my to-go order and I noticed it later and had to go inside and get the other half. Overall, the place felt very pretentious and there are better cafes in H-town that balance price, quality and service.
