I stumbled upon this place by "accident" after leaving an eye appt. about a year ago. That day, the daily special was baked chicken, potatoes, and green beans. When I got to my car and opened the lid, it had zucchini instead of green beans. I was a tad bit disappointed as I didn't like zucchini. HOWEVER, I went ahead and tasted theirs since it actually looked really good. OMG!! To my surprise it was AMAZING and perfectly prepared. They are the sole reason I now love zucchini. I learned that it's not that I never liked it, I just didn't like how it was cooked growing up bcz it was always mushy. South Loop Cafe changed my tastebuds on that, and ever since then, I started buying zucchini and preparing it at home. Even though I've only been here 3 times within a year, they've definitely made a very impactful impression. Each meal was surprisingly yummy, and I love that it's seasoned perfectly bcz I never need to add any salt or pepper. Each time I've been there, the quality, taste, and service has always been consistently welcoming. I take it as a sign I need to come at least 3 times a week.
