Amazing dinner for two at the upstairs bar at steak 48. Service is impeccable. Bread service is really delicious. Caesar salad, kc bone in strip and sides are all amazing. Had a few different types of old fashioneds. Again, service is really above and beyond. Steak is amongst the best in Houston.

Went into steak 48 today at 4pm when they opened & asked to sit at the bar for a quick dinner service.I am currently in the middle of a move between homes & of course I am Athletic wear/comfy wear, as Ive been packing & coordinating since 9a.I was in the mood for steak, after such a long day of physical work, but wanted to try somewhere new.I go to sit a the empty bar & the manager rushes over to tell me I cannot dine as my attire is inappropriate & asks me to leave. That he can reserve my spot at the empty bar if I wanna come back dressed.I politely declined and left. Now the funny part about this is this MANAGER did not ask if if he could accommodate me in a to go order or any other way to make sure I was fed because at the end of the day that’s what I came to this restaurant for.The other funny bit about this venue is half the people that dine here have their bbl’s on show in every cut out dress from shein & topshop & smell like they just sampled & left the dispensary. And if Drake showed up in basketball shorts & a white beater top, theyd roll out the red carpet for him.But alas, I’m neither famous nor have access to a proper wardrobe at this time. And no, some half done apology wont suffice nor will a giftcard to eat there.Keep it—write up the manager, and do better.

A PERFECT job by the Steak 48 team. Arriving at an unexpectedly busy place for a Tuesday night, the hostess was still super friendly, attentive, and helpful. Within a few minutes she was able to get us a table (we didn't have reservations), and we were walked upstairs by a friendly and helpful gentleman. My date and I could not have been happier with the table by a window and it really made for a very romantic night. The place settings were perfect and the bus staff was quick to get water and take away the unneeded place settings. John the server had all the right answers and great suggestions on the menu, and could not have been more friendly and helpful. The food was great (as always), and included a perfectly cooked sea bass as well as an incredible petite filet. Even though it was getting a little late, there was absolutely no rush from the staff, and we enjoyed a great vanilla cake for dessert. Absolutely a PERFECT job by the Steak 48 staff at every step of the way. Thanks, Steak 48!

I had dinner at Steak 48 last night a with a friend. Our server, I believe his name is Mark, was great. His knowledge on the menu and the history on the different types of steak, is incredible. We really liked him. I ended up ordering the Japanese Wagyu, the 9oz. They prepare a certain way, for you to have a similar experience has it’s done in Japan. The chef slices the steak to thin slices and it’s so tender it can be cut with your knife, he says. He then said he would keep an eye out to bring me another hot plate as I was eating to avoid the meat from getting cold. Ok, great. That didn’t happen, and he forgot my friend’s wine. Granted, he was very busy and had multiple tables. My friend ordered the Australian steak. 8oz. (We both agreed was better than mine). I was full, took the rest of my steak home, and as I’m eating it now, notice that there’s so much fat, more than actual meat. I noticed last night but thought, surely it’s just a little bit. Nope, it’s a lot. I’m just surprised because of the quality we expect and we definitely pay for that. I believe they charge $40 per ounce of meat? Can you imagine, a lot of it being fat? I don't eat that. He did bring us dessert on them, and that was for the other mention. That was my only disappointment.
