I was staying at the JW so i invited the rest of my coworkers to have dinner there.We were the only people eating in the restaraunt, so that should have clued us in. No vegan protien options. So I had overpriced vegetables in sauce. On of the people from my party ordered a burger "well". It was was served raw. The drinks were super strong which we needed lol. Server was great and very apologetic.

I went to lunch at Stray Horse because the JW Marriott was the venue I was attending a seminar. I arrived earlier then other attendees and the restaurant got full very quickly. I was able to get my order in before the restaurant filled up. There were four people total assisting the crowd. I have never seen anyone move as quickly and assisting everyone with their needs. Even though they were busy they made sure I was taken care of. The chef salad was exceptional. I went to eat there the next day for lunch...need I say more.

FoH staff are all very nice and friendly, but the kitchen seems to move at the same pace regardless of how busy they are.On two separate occasions - two nights in a row, one night busy, the other not - it took nearly 30 minutes to get my food which was wings one night and a chicken sandwich the next. Both fried. Fried food doesn't take that long to cook. Aside, what kind of restaurant charges $15 for 10 buffalo wings and you have to put the sauce on yourself? The wings were overcooked and nearly cold by the time I received them. Would not recommend.

The JW Marriott used to have a nice restaurant on floor 2. They've converted that to a meeting room, so the current restaurant is next to the bar on the first floor and the well-used escalator. No place for a client meeting, but if you're in the hotel and just need to sit at a table and be served lunch or dinner from a somewhat limited menu, it works.

We had an incredible time in Stray horse the food and quality the best, but what we really enjoyed was the service and attention we received from Andrea, Shayla, Edda and Maria … they made us feel like home … we had a wonderful time and it was thanks to these beautiful and kind ladies

First night in Houston, staying at the JW Marriott and decided instead of battling the heat, I would grab something light from downstairs at Stray Horse. Upon entering the place was empty (PERFECT for me) was greeted very warmly at the front. Placed my order for a Coors light (came out ice cold!!! ) and the grilled chicken caesar salad. A man named Haren (sp?) came up introduced himself and brought me a little stand for my phone. (I have eaten MANY places and never had this!) The salad came out and was probably the best caesar salad I have ever had. This place is a gem! The ambience, service and food are top notch, and for reasonable prices! EXCELLENT dining experience They earned this 5 star review!

The ease with which you can access the restaurant and the food options makes stray horse a must go while you are here - I have dined a few different occasions and each time the food hit the spot
Breakfast - very expensive but very good. Service was not great. Was not served water until end of meal. No pepper in pepper shaker. I think they were very short staffed that day, in fairness. $30 to valet park in the hotel and hotel won't validate the parking.

We got lots of good food. Everything is amazing. Definitely try S&S shrimps again. Blackened veggies are bombs. 24hr beef. ( I don't remember all the names of the food. Nice service. Highly recommended
