The place to go if you want really spicy food in a cool upbeat atmosphere! I’d you can’t handle spice, not for you since the mild is also hot for spice lovers! Love the concept and service. Highly recommend the kanom jib, corn fritters and green curry and drunken noodles. Wasn’t a fan of the crispy pork belly despite it being the menu highlight - was expecting soft fatty pork belly but it was instead quite chewy and crispy which threw us off. Will definitely be back.

I was excited to try this place. We ordered a few dishes and they’re not lying. Their mild is really a medium to almost hot.The waitress forgot to bring out the pork meatballs and then i cancelled the papaya salad. To be honest i was glad bc my mouth was on fire at that point. The waitress said the peppers seem to be getting spicier as it’s getting warmer and the peppers are just crazy spicy. The green curry though was absolutely amazing and if/when I come back here I’d like to try dishes that basically have next to nothing on the spice level. We did try the crispy pork belly and also really yummy.I just came back from Thailand on vacation and the level of spicy here surpasses what I tried there.

The food is fine but the experience is less than. Unable to order online or by phone; staff reported that no one actually answers the listed phone number (on the website); pork belly is unavailable to-go by “policy”; sat at the bar for a 30-minute ticket time on soup and noodles.

Street style Thai food brought to an edgy restaurant. Service was friendly and the music playlist is a winner. The wine list has attitude, and I loved our pet nat petite syrah which had enough sweetness to play with the heat in many of the dishes. I was forewarned about the spiciness of the dishes, and with help picked some of the less hot options, but they were still punishingly hot to be honest. I live in Mexico City and deal with heat regularly and I still think the spice level was far above normal people’s comfort zones. It’s part of the experience so just accept that you will sweat and maybe cry a little and enjoy the sweet sour spice combo that is proper Thai food.

Came with a group of friends. Everyone was nice and we had prefaced that we preferred mild spice. There waiter understood and gave recs. We started with the papaya salad. The peppers used were extremely spicy and ruined the taste for the rest of the night unfortunately. The waiter had told us there’s was a small kick in spice, but a small kick didn’t burn your tongue for the next hr. When we had told him that it was in fact spicy, he said yes I said that and walked away. Service was very mediocre after that. He never came to check on us, apologize for misleading us on their spice levels, refill our water, and had to be stopped multiple times when we asked for our check. I had to ask someone else for it and then it was promptly given. They also add at 22% gratuity on the check. I’ve heard good things about this place but unfortunately we didn’t have one.

My husband and I have been faithful to Street to Kitchen since their first 2020 celebration of Songkran and COVID times. Our first visit after the new location opening was unfortunately very disappointing. We decided to make a reservation for our wedding anniversary and their phone lines were not working. Perhaps it be due to new location although it has been well after opening? We noted in the reservation that we were celebrating, however it did not mean anything to staff. Even just a simple congratulations upon arrival or card would have made it feel more special. Our server rushed through us and seemed like he was working through the motions of getting his hours, less than enthusiastic to be there. The atmosphere of the new location is significantly larger and was similarly set up how the previous restaurant was. However, the light fixtures and plants are set too high and bring your attention to look up at the green exposed pipes in the ceilings. In relation to seating, it does make you feel quite exposed if you sit in the middle. We spent most of our time instead of focused on each other, we were too distracted.Food remains 10/10 and as authentic as it can get. I recommend the scallion pancakes, any flat noodle or curry dish, and papaya salad.Overall, the James Beard award brings a lot of new customers and lives up to the food expectations. The service/atmosphere does not align with that award. Street to Kitchen is now rather confusing--is it elevated or is it casual? I don't know if I'll come here to celebrate an occasion again.

Absolutely amazing. The atmosphere was lovely, the food was incredibly delicious, and the overall experience was memorable. I’ve shared this place with all my friends and it should be on your list to try if you haven’t been here yet!

Went for dinner saturday night. We initially got seated by the table right next to the kitchen so I asked if we could be seated at another empty table except they said it was booked. However, it was empty the entire time we were dining and we were there for about 2 hours. The food was alright but very disappointed with the service.

We came in with my fiancé to celebrate our engagement. We didn’t want to make a big deal out of it. Therefore, we decided to go to a neighborhood café.Mined you, “street to kitchen” used to be located in very questionable area before that, and their prices were not as high as they used to. Compare to what we were charged yesterday. The hostess was rude and unhelpful.Almost seemed like she was lost….Our server was attentive, but I am pretty sure he made a mistake in our order. I didn’t make a big deal out of it, again we just wanted to enjoy our evening.Drinks were okay…I personally don’t understand how certain establishments in nowadays trying to be “trendy” or “fancy” by throwing extra zeros in their menu. Sadly the justification for it, is a slightly better decor and maybe you get some extra cool items on the menu. But completely overseeing the effort into making a better quality food and service….Also adding extra 22$ gratuity charge with no exceptions, was a bit too much.I used to work in the industry myself, and only in cases where the tab was exceeding 100+ $$, was it allowed to do so!!!But this….In my personal opinion, that’s how you will start to see decline in customer service going forward…We won’t be back.

We were excited to go to a Thai restaurant where the sauces were prepared from scratch and the dishes were served in such an authentic manner. The food came as expected - real and delicious - however, the order in which the dishes were served could have been a bit more strategic. The Green Curry has some heat and was the first dish served, the Tom Yum soup (mild) was next, followed by the Pad Thai and for dessert, the Mango Sticky Rice. If the Tom Yum soup was served first, we could have enjoyed the rich flavors and then graduated to the heat of the Green Curry. We don't normally order Pad Thai because my husband does not like such generic dishes but the noodles were wrapped in a thin scrambled egg and this is so unique and enjoyable...like true street food. For dessert, the sticky rice itself could have been a touch sweeter to match the very ripe mango on top but was nonetheless, the dessert was flavorful. When I made the Open Table reservation a few days ago, I noted that it was our 31-year wedding anniversary. I was disappointed there was no regard given to special occasions. Just a touch of hospitality such as moving us from our high top table in the bar area to a more intimate table in the dining room (there were empty tables which were not filled because we could see from our higher seating position) or maybe a comment such as 'we're happy you chose STK to spend your special evening!'. Maybe, I have high expectations because I have read the book Unreasonable Hospitality? I don't think so because I already gave them a head start with the anniversary hint. A 22% service charge + an appreciated tip on top of the charge REQUIRES something above standard/normal. It makes STK just like any other restaurant in Houston with a higher cost in the end. Next time, we will order online and pick up.

Now I understand the excitement over this restaurant. We followed our server's recommendation for everything and her guidance was perfect. I started with an absolutely perfect lemon cocktail (can't remember the name). It was so nice and more tart than sweet. That alone would be reason to return. The noise level was so pleasant - we could actually carry on a conversation without yelling “What?!” Loved the lighting, too.
