Easily top 10 sushi place in all of Houston. Authentic and Delicious.
We were in Katy and happened to come across this restaurant by chance—and what a gem it turned out to be. The staff was incredibly attentive, especially Maria, our server, who was knowledgeable about the menu and made us feel well taken care of. The owners were also present, checking in with guests to ensure everyone was enjoying their meal, which added a personal and welcoming touch.
The food was outstanding. Their rolls were absolutely delectable and satisfying. We were pleasantly surprised by the offering of fresh wasabi and pickled wasabi at a low cost—something you don’t often see. The green tea they serve is authentic, sourced directly from Japan.
One of the highlights was the day’s special: bafun uni (Japanese sea urchin) wild-caught from Hokkaido and overnight-shipped from Japan. It was incredibly fresh and flavorful. We also ordered a kids meal, which came in a generous portion.
Our table enjoyed miso soup, tempura udon, the Canada Roll, Jin Special Roll, Yellowtail Roll, and a few sashimi selections. The sashimi was exceptionally fresh, and they didn’t skimp on the slices either. Every bite was a treat for our palates.
Overall, it was a delightful dining experience—we’ll definitely be back.
The food at this restaurant was delicious and very fresh. The quality of the food was outstanding, exceeding my expectation. The sashimi was out of this world. Our waitress Hee was very friendly and helpful. The owner came out to talk to us and was very amiable. I highly recommend this restaurant.
“Had a great experience at this sushi spot! The fish was fresh, the rolls were beautifully prepared, and the flavors were on point. The staff was friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming. Definitely a place I’d come back to
recommended by a friend, and did not disappoint. i was told i was getting an Unagi onigiri but I got a plum, will forsure go for the salmon next time!
crazy wine menu, great looking saki!
Curry was great. Sushi was also really good. Would go again!
About as close to a restaurant in Japan as you can get in the US. Sashimi was fresh, plenty of sake selection, clam soup is also delicious.
Best sushi on the Westside. If you disagree, go get your basic California at h.e.b.
Average sushi place.
Had poor service so try to not sit in the back...
Poor online documentation
Overall food is exactly what you expect from an average sushi place, nothing amazing or wow factor. However that is what makes them a pretty good place to go to, their quality is good to make them a mid tier sushi place and can have great time with coworkers.
For me at the very least... It's hard to come back here.
Recommended dishes:
Torando roll
Volcano roll
The pork katsu for me was a little bit under season but was a lot so I would recommend if you're a volume eater.
Tried sushi here for the first time, 35 years ago. Back then, I could barely stomach a roll, today, I sashimi’d with the best of them. Thank you Hee!

If I could give this place a 0/5, I absolutely would. From the time we walked in, we had to wait 18 minutes to have our order taken. After we walked in, there were 3 other parties who walked in after us and were served (both orders taken and food brought out) before us!! And we didn't have a huge or complicated order. Came here during lunch, so it's not like it was super busy or anything. To add insult to injury, the food was mid!!!!! I didn't finish both of the 2 rolls I ordered because the shrimp was gray!!! And the chicken in my sons chicken bento box was soooo rubbery he couldn't finish it either. Will not return. Sooooo many great places in houston, save your time and money and go somewhere else!!
Ten don was amazing and so was the service. Low crowds Saturday afternoon
Dominic is the best lunch deluxe sashimi appetizer chef at 2 pm on Thursdays I know.
I am a sushi goer and seldom write any review. However I have to write this one since Toda san is back! Mr. Toda is an authentic Japanese chef, Tokyo style cutting when different fish has specific way to prepare, and has been in Houston since the early 80's. We just learned he started working here since last month, after left his previous sushi shop during covid time and after, and we have been coming here every week, twice a week sometimes. For those who really love TRUE Japanese sushi, you won't be disappointed. Make your appointments and request Toda san's sushi bar. Certainly many other good food from the kitchen. You really need to try them. Attached are some arts of sushi from this place. Enjoy it!
Toda San is here! Best Chef in town for 40 years! Restaurant is very nice and clean!
