The sashimi was perfect. The specialty rolls were creative and flavorful. The presentation was beautiful. The servers were extremely attentive. Good atmosphere, pleasant and relaxing. The servers were very knowledgeable and made great recommendations of new things to try. They have a wonderful gluten-free menu with many options. I enjoyed several gluten-free dishes, and they even had gluten-free soy sauce. I also noticed that they have a great vegetarian menu, too. It seems they have something for everyone. We now have a new favorite sushi place, and we can't wait to come back.
Dietary restrictions: They have a wide variety of gluten-free choices and seem very knowledgeable.
I'm pretty disappointed. The rolls were mostly rice, barely any salmon (or flavor), and the spider roll was 2/5ths crab legs (which honestly who eats those?)
I enjoy Sushi King and while I have been coming here for years, it has been since pre-pandemic since I’ve eaten here! Love this Kirby Dr location with plentiful parking! Easy access! Good food! Music was kind of loud!
We have come here many times in the past 15 years. Our most recent, last night, was the first time in quite a while, and it seems like something drastic happened -- for the worse: new menu missing some family favorites, significantly increased prices, terrible server, some booths removed so the place just feels dreary. The food itself was acceptable, but at this new price point there's no reason to go back.
Just moved to the area and decided to try this restaurant.Host was friendly but waiter was cold and curt.No hello, no thank you… nothing.Food was mediocre. Portions were terribly small for the restaurant caliber. Then my seaweed salad had random lettuce at the bottom. Bizarre. Many cheaper places with bigger portions and friendlier staff in the area.
Unfortunately only minus a star because the fantastic happy hour menu is gone and prices have now normalized across the board like every other sushi place. The food is still good, but it's no longer a good deal and that was the most important part of what made this place great. I hope the management will reconsider.
The good value this place used to offer is gone, unfortunately. They recently increased their prices and decreased the portion sizes. I know everyone has to do what they can to stay in business these days, but at this price point we will just go to a place with higher quality food and atmosphere. Sushi King's seats are torn, smells funky and the food is just... okay. It's a $12 place now charging $25+/person. So long, Sushi King.
Legitimately the best sushi on the planet. The golden gate bridge roll is the best. They also have great happy hour prices on a lot of stuff even the specialty sushi rolls pretty much every day. Run to support this local business!!
Well all good things eventually come to an end. Been coming for many years but New owners did away with their All Day Every Day happy hour menu and revamped the regular menu. Some new items and some previous items no longer there. Happy Hour now 3-6 pm only. Still made it in time for happy hour but my usual happy hour roll went from $6 to $12 and got smaller. Everything else went up a lot too. My usual happy hour bill of $28 now came to $52. While still good, it no longer justifies going out of the way since their are so many others around for the same money or less. They badly need to replace the flooring, long overdue. So long Sushi King (now Yushi). It was good while it lasted!
Really enjoyed the sushi here and the price! Will be back and they have all day happy hour. What's not to love!

Happy Hour menu All Day, Everyday!!! They have a few items that are not so common in other Japanese restaurants which was really nice. Shiso Hasami Age was delicious and the Kimchi beef sushi. They do take sometime to prepare them though as it’s not a common item but it was worth the wait. The restaurant was clean and service was excellent.
This place never disappoints. Every server I've had has been top notch with service. Sitting at the sushi bar is fun as well. The crew is nonstop laughing and talking with customers as well. I feel like I'm at a friends house and everyone is hanging out in the kitchen
When we first walked in it stunk really bad and lingered til after the meal. Even as people walked in they made a face pretty sure it was the smell. The place is really rundown and dirty. There was a lot of trash on the floor as if nobody vacuumed, the furniture was dirty and also looked as if it was falling apart. The food was ok nothing to rave about. I got the yaki chicken udon noodles. There mainly was cabbage and one to two carrot shavings, most of the lingering after taste was of cabbage due to how much cabbage there was. The rainforest sushi was decent. The shumai was tasty probably the best thing I had here. The waiter was friendly as well as the staff. Overall its ok wouldn't come back again though.
sushi was fresh. with happy hour everyday you can't miss!
I have celiacs which is an extreme immune reaction to gluten. Not only were they able to provide me with a gluten-free menu but the wait staff and the kitchen went out of their way in order to provide me with a safe gluten-free meal without cross contamination and gluten-free soy sauce. I was completely overwhelmed by their kindness. I’ve missed sushi so much since my diagnosis so it’s so exciting that I found a sushi restaurant that I can eat safe gluten free food. I can’t thank them enough!
