Why the hell did you put your salsa to go in a jar? It taste horrible! It taste nothing like the original!!! It taste so fake! If we walk in wanting salsa do not give it to us in a jar!!

Seven years ago, I rated this five stars, with the text "Excellent enchiladas".
The enchiladas still taste good, but so much has slipped. My refried beans were just barely warm, and my rice was room temperature. When I mentioned this to the person that asked how my meal was, they just repeated, "the rice was cold" and walked away.
The newer plates, with the tiny metal trays, are now well worn and tired. The enchiladas are smaller, and they seem to be cooked onto the plate, such that while eating them, the tortilla rips leaving a piece in the plate. That tells me the sauce is an afterthought added to the dish.i have a soft spot in my heart for Sylvia's, but it's not the same place it was back when it was on Westheimer.

Great place to hit if you haven't been before. Huge selection of different enchiladas, allowing you to find exactly what you want. Margaritas are your normal price for a American mexican restaurant. The enchiladas can be inconsistent in size between visits.

I liked their chips. Their salsa you're either going to love it or hate it. I like it because I like my salsa warm. I received my service at the bar because I was solo. It is a nice place to grab a quick bite.

I have eaten at Sylvia's for many, many years and it has always had great service, excellent and friendly waitstaff, and food that is consistently great!! That's EVERY time I have eaten there!! Best place hand down to get many different types of enchiladas. My favorite are the spinach enchiladas, but I always have to have at least one enchilada with the superb chili gravy that Sylvia's is famous for. Always a pleasant experience and a dining delight to eat there! The slightly warmed salsa for the tortilla chips is really nice, too. Don't forget to finish off with the flan!!
This was a 10 star experience. We held a small reception following my mother's funeral (about 30 people) at Sylvia's. Daniel Ruiz and his team did an EXECELLENT job of taking care of our group. It exceeded my expectations. I appreciate their help on a difficult day as we honored my mother.

My family and I were in the houston area for the weekend and saw this place as we drove down the road. We decided to try it the next night and extremely happy we did!! I had their chile rellenos, one beef and one cheese. These were some of the best ones I have ever had! Customer service was excellent. Our waitress took the time to explain the drinks and menu. The wait time for the food was minimal and their queso con nachos was amazing! I will definitely return once I’m in the area again!
