TACOS EL CHANGARRITO (TC JESTER)
This is no longer El Rey. My review is for Changarrito and for anyone interested in tacos in the area.
10/10 Tacos, loaded with all the fixins if you want them, grilled and fresh onions, cilantro, grilled jalapeño and grilled nopales (cactus)
The tortillas are different than most, they have a great corn taste and where most only give you 1 they double it.
They have an INSANE Hibiscus and Strawberry fresh water. A must try.
My order was 5 tacos with everything and a large water. 15$ very fair. I paid with zelle. They accept cash or Zelle only.
My only suggestion is that they include a menu somewhere.

Best tacos I have tasted in a while. Virginia is so nice and friendly, with great customer service. The pastor tacos and quesadillas are amazing. All the other meats are excellent, but I do gravitate to the pastor great atmosphere. I recommend this place and be there prompt as tacos fly off the grill fast. Best tacos come out the Hood

Off the side of the road, 2 tables setup. Near traffic light so it can get loud as cars wait for light to turn green. Food was over price and not tasty. Ordered 2 beef tacos and cost 10$, for a street side taco shop, it was bit too much. Beef didn’t taste didn’t fresh. Not sure how long it was sitting around. Tacos were smal size it came with two types of hot sauces and 2 slices of potato and some onion and pepper.

I stopped by this new taco stand located outside of the citgo gas station, I ordered some head and sirloin beef tacos, and they added some vinegar onions and sautéed onions, pepper and potatoes too. The horchata water is really good. The sauces are hot ? . They have more things on the menu, but I'm going to try them the next time I stop by.

The food is good. On the other hand, it takes a looong time to convey your order to the drive-thru lady and a looong time to get your food. What really angers me about this place is you can't just pay and then drive to the next window to get your food. Before you do that, they give you your receipt to sign and they have a spot for a tip. YOU WANT A TIP FOR DRIVE-THRU? Bullsh*t. YOU PAY YOUR EMPLOYEES!!
When in Houston, my husband and I always enjoy a meal here. We love Cuban food, and we can enjoy our favorite dishes made fresh in a fast food setting. My favorite is the Rotisserie Cuban Chicken Plate that comes with rice, black beans, plantains and tortillas. Since I require gluten-free, I get the corn tortillas. My husband usually gets the Cuban sandwich or the grilled shrimp tacos. We often order extra plantains as they are a special treat. The portions are large, and we have enough food to take back to our hotel for a second meal. The lemonade is made in-house and it is delicious: sweet enough but not too sweet. There is a drive-thru option and take-out which is also convenient.
