Fabolous tacos! I myself had fried fish, sweet and sour chicken, braised beef and I can't say which I liked best!
There is magic going on in that kitchen. These folks need a few Michelin stars. The food is incredible. Sweet, attentive service and relaxed vibe are awesome too.
Celebrated my birthday here on Friday and had an incredibly good experience! The service was welcoming and attentive, the food was really good and fresh! Our favorite was the potato taquitos. The margaritas were delicious and not too sweet. Love the ambiance and decor. Looking forward to going back soon!
The outdoor space is beautiful. We had a long table for a small celebration. The food, drinks, and service were fantastic. Great spot for a date or a celebration.
It's my third time coming here and again i was extremely happy with the whole experience .
Loved the fried shrimp taco so much!!! The squash blossom quesadilla was small and perfect
We had the mixed fajitas and they were bombdigity, pico was excellent beans were on point and the homemade tortillas made me want to shimmy and shake they were fantastic!!!!!!
Our experience at Tu Madre on Saturday for lunch was great. We couldn't stop raving about how aromatic and robust the bowls were for the price. I loved the crunchy kale and onions they add to the bowls. The serving team was warm and friendly. Will definitely come back again!
Everything was excellent at Tu Madre. We sat on the patio, which was cozy like sitting in your friend's backyard. We enjoyed the Chicken Banh Mi bowl, several tacos, and a pitcher of Casa Margaritas, all served in such a cute way. The server was warm and polite.
We had 2 wonderful servers at the Los Feliz location. The food was great: the ahi tuna tacos, fried avocado tacos and the truffle guacamole was a tremendous savorful surprise! We all enjoyed a glass of the straw-a-rita.....yum! And, there is no explanation for the churros - terrific! Only one suggestion: get big zappers for the patio area. There were quite a bit of gnats which prompted us to ask to be seated inside.

The food, and cocktails, were totally awesome. We dropped in for dinner prior to a show at The Greek. What a great idea! While the music was great, we talked more about the Tu Madre food, cocktails, and experience. We all want to return! Highly recommended -- ESPECIALLY at Happy Hour!!!
HORRIBLE! The food was flavorless and just plain awful. I was so disappointed. We haven’t been there in years, but they used to be so GOOD! This was almost inedible. The charro beans were the best of everything that we got and they were VERY lacking in flavor and seasoning. The meat on my tacos was flavorless and the carne guisada tacos were huge chunks of gristle and fat with a little meat. I literally spat it out because there was so much gristle that I couldn’t even chew it. The only edible taco was the pork taco (which was the LEAST bad of the bad tacos). We ordered street tacos (not as ordered and no flavor), carne guisada tacos x3 (ATTEMPTED eating but again there was more gristle than meat), beef fajita tacos x3 (edible-ISH but not worth the calories because they were so flavorless), and the one pastor pork taco. Only the pork taco got eaten. The rest went to the dog. I wish I could post pictures of the food. They should be ashamed to serve this and call it food. The “guacamole” was pico with a tiny bit of avocado mashed into it. It was the only thing that made the one pork taco worth eating. It was laughable that they called it guacamole tbh, but I did use it to try to eat some of the tacos, but in reality, only one taco got eaten because the rest was SO BAD that you couldn’t even “doctor it up” to make it edible. The 5 street tacos, 3 steak fajita tacos, and 3 carne guisada tacos? All went to the dog. The pico aka guacamole wasn’t bad as far as pico goes. I’m only saying it wasn’t good because it was about 92% pico and MAYBE (if I’m being generous) 8% avocado. Charro beans were the worst I’ve ever had, but edible. TBH- I ordered chips and queso and queso flameado, but the queso was so watered down that it didn’t get eaten and I didn’t even bother to try the queso flameado, so I can’t say much about those. I will ATTEMPT doctoring those up tomorrow to see if we will attempt to eat those. I have cheese that I can try to melt and add to them to see if they are worth the calories. If not, I guess they will go to the dog as well. SO DISAPPOINTING because we used to LOVE this place. I don’t know if they sold to other people or what, but judging by tonight’s meal, we will not be eating food from there ever again… 🫤 (I really wish I could post pictures…it’s just soooo baaad! 🤢
The experience was great. I would come back. The service was good. Five stars. Look forward to the next visit
Amazing food and will definitely go back very soon! Super convenient to eat prior to a show at the Greek Theater.
I was honestly shocked at how many plant based options they had! Finding good alternatives for tacos in LA feels harder than it should be, so this was a really nice surprise. The flavors didn't feel like an afterthought either, you can tell they actually put effort into making the plant-based menu just as good as the regular one. Service was great, vibe was great and atmosphere was great. Will definitely be coming back. Ps the potato taquitos are chefs kiss🔥
