Tacos Tierra Caliente (Food Truck)

Predictably, Houston’s vast Tex-Mex offerings would paralyze anyone with the slightest case of indecisiveness. Luckily, there’s one taco truck whose prices, flavors, menu items, and location (right across West Alabama Ice House’s walkable side street) remain reassuringly consistent. If you’re looking to customize your tortilla toppings, look elsewhere. But if you want to satisfy that highly-specific craving for greasy, marinated meat wrapped in a pliant corn mini-shell (with no other toppings except diced sweet onions, chopped cilantro, and as much sweat-inducing homemade salsa as you can stomach), then look no further than Tacos Tierra Caliente. Bring cash and order at least four per person. Then take your extra napkins and complimentary lime wedges over to one of the Ice House’s outdoor picnic tables. Cold beverages necessary.

Too many onions on my taco. Beef was seasoned perfectly. The chicken quesadilla left a lot to be desired. For a food truck, it was pretty good. Thank God they accepted tap as I left my cash at home.
