One of my favorite places in Houston. I moved out of state and STILL think about their salads. It's just great. Delicious, fresh and well seasoned. Not much else you can ask for. Definitely give them a try.

Came for a salad but they were sold out ?. Ended up getting a pork chop sandwich and the double cheese burger. Everything is made fresh. Great prices and huge portions. Seasoned perfectly. Hopefully we can get a salad the next time we visit

With a loooooong commute in TRAFFIC, I did NOT want to cook on this evening! So, I decided to try this neighborhood spot. I must say this is the best seasoned "red snapper", because I don't like catfish, that I have had in awhile! I ordered the fish basket with shrimp & added orka. The okra was fried too hard for me. This order was freshly made & HOT, made to order no sitting under a heat lamp.But, overall I say go check out this establishment & support this black business. If you are craving some GOOD SEASONED fried fish, go check them out......

In a plethora of fast food options I was seeking something new. I googled "What should I eat for lunch?", and this place popped up. The pictures drew me in and I had to try it. I ordered the crispy chicken salad with grilled shrimp and my partner ordered the loaded fries and honey hot wings, on a last minute whim we decided to get a banana pudding as well. I will start by saying for for the portion , quality and flavor, the food was reasonably priced. The flavors were amazing, well seasoned but not salty and delicious. My partner finished the wings before leaving the parking lot, we tussled over the banana pudding as it was very similar to the one I make at home, and the salad was the big enough for two servings easily. I've never had a salad that didn't need dressing until today. My partner stated that the customer service was excellent and they even shared the story on how they got the name for the restaurant. This place is definitely a gem and I'm looking forward to trying the other items on the menu. Bonus:It's Black Owned
I ordered 2 catfish filets and the loaded fries. Everything was made hot and fresh as you would expect. The catfish was seasoned very well and the cornmeal coating was nice and crispy but not overcooked. It was true Southern fried catfish and super delicious. The loaded fries had chicken, bacon, red onions, Jalapeños, sour cream, and cheese sauce...definite artery clogging food but everything was super good. I didn't really need the chicken on the fries but overall the loaded fries were solid. The star of the show was the fried catfish though.I recommend you check this place out.

10/10 I got the catfish basket and added hush puppies. They have REAL CATFISH y’all. Not that Swai stuff other houston restaurants be passing out. Very flavorful and fresh. THE BEST catfish I’ve had in Houston and I am a foodie. The hush puppies were good. Sweet and just perfect to go with my Cajun seasoned fries. My food was phenomenal. Can’t wait to go back!!! And it was so much food I ate half my plate and saved the rest for later. Also the lady serving me was very nice.

Straight up garbage hood old grease and old heat lamp food....never again! Maybe I should have ordered some drinks first, lol. Look, if you are satisfied with low prices within walking distance, this may be your place to go in an empty establishment on a Friday night. My fish, shrimp, wings, and fries were such a disappointment that I threw it out with their cousin in the trash can. ?

Fitting name, the food is definitely for the soul. The fish is so good, and definitely get the wings. We stopped here before going to an event, bad move, I needed a nap after this meal. My belly was definitely happy to meet this Houston spot. The neighborhood is iffy even in the daytime, but the customer service was great and the food came out in a timely manner. I highly recommend this place. Jesus, take the wheel, the house, the dog, and whatever else you feel is necessary for them to keep churning out delicious meals.

1st time visitor. Ordered Triple w wings, fish & shrimp plus Boudain balls. Food was overcooked I.e. shrimp was rubbery, wings dried out. May try again but w instructions to not fry too long. Seasoning too heaving on salt.
