1st time here. Two of us got the ramen. Hubby got the Houston Roll and he liked it a lot! Delicious! I had the miso ramen. Grandson had the tonkotsu ramen. We loved it and will be back. Service is attentive too. Recommend!

Don’t let the strip mall fool you! If you’re in Uptown and need a quick bite, this just might be your spot. The vibe is laid back Japanese meets Malaysian in Houston. The Tamashi Menn Ramen is light but filling and in the typical Malaysian Ramen style. I will be back and try the sushi. The service is fast and friendly.

My wife and I ordered out. Spent $42 USD and $8 USD tip a total of $50 bucks. They barely had any meat or fish in the roll. I get it times are tough but if you cant afford meat fish don’t defraud your customers turn your place into a veggie vegan place. Very very upset very sad. I didn’t pay with Monopoly money , this is not right. Look at the photo each piece had that much meat/fish.

I ordered sushi to go at multiple places. Not only did this one have a long wait, I feel like the staff were kind of rude. It was evident they did not enjoy their job much. The restaurant lighting was really low, I feel like I'd have a hard time seeing my food if I ate there in person. Food quality was just okay. Nothing special.

Tamashi Ramen & Sushi has been one of our long-time favorites in the Westheimer/Fountain View plaza, even though the parking lot there is always a bit chaotic. Thankfully, most people don’t know there’s a whole parking area in the back that’s usually empty and gives you quick, easy access straight to the front — definitely a pro tip if you visit.
Now, the important part: the food and the experience. Tamashi’s Tamashi Mein has been a go-to dish of mine for years, and my kids absolutely love it. The One Piece anime-themed décor inside is a huge hit with them. Even though none of us have watched the show, we’re big anime fans, and the whole setup is just fun to be around.
Service here is generally very good. There’s a younger waitress we’ve had many times, and she is fantastic — truly one of the reasons we kept coming back so often. I’m planning to get her name the next time we visit so I can update this review, because she deserves the recognition.
There was one visit where we had a group of five and learned (the hard way) that Tamashi automatically adds a 20% gratuity for parties over four. Most restaurants don’t start doing that until six, seven, or eight people, so it caught me off guard. We also had a different waitress that day, and the service wasn’t great — so between that and the unexpected gratuity, it left a bad taste and we stopped going for a while. I do think it would help if they mentioned the policy up front so guests know.
That said, the food has always been solid, the flavors are good, the ramen is unique compared to other spots I frequent, and the overall experience — especially with our favorite waitress — has kept Tamashi on our list. My kids still love it, and we’ve slowly started going back because at the end of the day, it is a great place with great food.
Still a recommended spot, especially for anime fans and ramen lovers.

I realized that certain locations have Malaysian food & some do not. This one that I went to did so I was able to try some Nasi Lemak. It was very flavorful & tasty. Service was very prompt too.

I doordashed and got the spicy tonkatsu and mild miso. Mild was spicier than I thought it would be but was very good. Since I got delivered, soup wasn’t hot enough and my room didn’t have a microwave but still tasted good anyway. We ordered two rolls including yellowtail and spicy salmon. Soooo good. Would love to dine in!

Would like to preface this by saying the Katy Freeway location is wonderful.
Walked in here at 4 o’clock on a Saturday and the place reeked of nail polish remover. We were the only customers in there and had to ask one of the busboys in there for a waitress and said she would be available in 5 minutes. We thought weird but went ahead and ordered our meal. The edamame came with two bowls, one bowl had a hair in it. We said ok… just don’t use that one… then the ramen comes out and we bite into our egg and it’s FREEZING cold. I proceed to flag down the waitress and let her know if we could please get an egg that was not freezing cold and she proceeds to argue back with me, the customer, letting us know that they need to be served cold. I have never had a ramen egg cold. And so we just have her bring another egg and when she brings it, she proceeds to double down on why the egg is cold AGAIN. She then tells my boyfriend to stop talking while she is speaking and that’s when we proceed to get up and leave. Asked for a manager and turns out our waitress is the manager. Worst dining experience ever. DO NOT COME HERE.

Tamashi Ramen & Sushi is easily one of the best ramen and sushi spots in the Galleria area. The ramen broth is rich and flavorful, the noodles cooked perfectly, and the sushi rolls are big, fresh, and full of flavor. You can tell they use quality ingredients. The atmosphere is cozy and modern, great for both lunch or dinner. The staff is friendly and the service is usually quick. Prices are fair for the portion size and quality. Definitely recommend trying their shrimp ramen or any of their signature rolls — you won’t be disappointed!
