Took my wife and her cousin in late October for our birthdays. The ambiance and service were top notch. Amazing salad bar, seafood and dessert. The only criticism is that the steaks were good, but not exceptional as you'd expect for this price point. But as a one time thing, I strongly recommend it.

I go here on special occasions. The food and service is exceptional. I am lucky to live close by to this amazing restaurant and it is one of the few places in Texas that I have enjoyed having steak at. There are lots of overrated steak houses these days, but this place walks the walk.

I have been eating at the Taste of Texas for over 30 years and tonight my daughter's 18th birthday was wrecked by a racist bigot of manager. The apparently the owner of the Taste of Texas has decided to remove the pepper grinders from the tables and we enjoy fresh ground pepper in our steaks. We mentioned this to the manager and he indicated that this was a decision made by the owner. His demeanor was unpleasant and made it quite clear he didn't care if we enjoyed our dining experience. My wife then complained in a mildly raised voice and was asked to leave. The manager, Donnell?, then asked my wife to leave. She responded that she'd be quiet and asked to stay as it was my daughter's 18th birthday. She was told that she would be arrested if she didn't leave. We will never be back.

Had an incredible dining experience on last year 2024! From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was warm and inviting, with a perfect blend of rustic charm and upscale comfort. The steak was absolutely top-notch—juicy, tender, and cooked to perfection. Definitely one of the best steaks I’ve had in Houston! The sides were just as impressive, especially the loaded baked potato and creamed spinach—so flavorful!
Our server was friendly and attentive, making sure we had everything we needed. The wine list was fantastic too, with great pairing suggestions that enhanced the whole meal. If you’re a fan of classic Texas flavors and exceptional service, Taste of Texas is a must-visit. Can’t wait to go back! 🥩🍷
