The prices are affordable and the food is fresh. The teppanyaki tastes great. There aren’t any expensive dishes, so I’m giving it four stars. The service is pretty good, and I recommend the steamed turbot.

Solid Asian buffet. Not the worst, not the best, but it’s very solid. We all know buffets are cheap food with large quantity but a low quality on return, and Texas Buffet delivers a solid return. Buffets are generally for people who want to eat a lot on a budget. So I try my best not to be a snob when evaluating a buffet. For me does the food at least taste fresh and of decent quality? The answer is yes for Texas Buffet. I never felt like I was messing with my health eating any of the food like some other buffets. The meat tasted like it was kept at a proper temperature and fresh, everything else felt fresh and decent. It’s not great food, but I remember when this place was a Golden Corral and it was one of the worst Golden Corrals I’ve ever been too. Texas Buffet is a clear step up from the previous owner. The atmosphere is also a small step up from the previous establishment and some other buffet restaurants in the area. I certainly would not call this a classy buffet restaurant, but I liked that it held back and doesn’t dive head first into being excessively gaudy or tacky. It tries to look like a professional cafeteria instead of a tacky amusement park. So there’s a win there. It’s still buffet food, so temper your expectations, but I give it a solid recommendation. I would not go here to celebrate a really special occasion like a milestone birthday or graduation, find a nicer place for that. But this is a good place to dine on the cheap and probably will not make you sick.

Stays true to the “buffet atmosphere”, a lot of delicious options but there are some misses as well. Service is very friendly and helpful as well. It is a repeater, especially if you are wanting big portions for a reasonable price.
