I'm going to miss them, but supposedly they own another restaurant on Hwy 6. I can't recall the name though.
I used to come here years ago before another great Thai place opened on Richmond between Fountainview and Gessner, but since that one has recently closed, I thought I'd give Thai Pepper another try. Sigh. I really wanted to like it as this was our go-to Thai restaurant so many years ago, but I can't give it any more than 2 stars today because the quality is just not there. We started with the papaya salad, which was tasty, but heavily overloaded with peanuts, to the point that they overpowered the dish. Next came the veggie green curry, which was far too much coconut cream and far too little green curry in the mix. I can honestly say that I've never had a green curry that was this bland. On top of that, the veggies were not fresh! The cauliflower had black spots on top (see picture) and the carrots were black on the ends! Yuk! Our other entree was the Bangkok Chicken Noodle, which was overly sweet and not very fresh either. Sadly, I can't say that we will be eating here again unless things change. To the chef, if you read this, please, please, please up your game. You have a unique opportunity to draw customers in now that the place on Richmond is closed. Step up and deliver and you will find that people will notice!
Garlic Chicken off Lunch menu was excellent!! Great value!!! This was absolutely delicious!! It had Basil, garlic and onions and was tasty!! Dish came with 2 spring rolls and rice!!
The taste was fine but this was the first time I’ve had pad see ew and it was mostly chicken and vegetables with barely any noodles.
We have been going here for years! The waitress is Very sweet! The food is always super tasty and hot!
The food was ok. It is not a kid friendly place. Waitresses are pretty rude. Bad service. No one came to refill water, we had to get up like 7-8 times for forks, spoons and napkins. I ordered $14 noodles for kids that was just noodles and sauce. I had to order pad Thai and tell them not to put anything for kids. They brought noodles with sauce but it had chili ? and I specifically asked for no chili. Kids did not eat since it was spicy. No one came to check on us. Lady was pretty rude when I was ordering for kids. Bad attitude and they charged for gratuity 25% without asking us. One plate was messed up for my fiends son and my friend ask if they could remake waitress gave her attitude she took the plate and she did not bring it back. She also charged for that plate. It’s way over priced. I hope owner reads this and does something about this if not they will run off all the customers.
Great authentic Thai dishes at the right price. You really can't go wrong with this place! Great as a place to go to chat with friends for a while. It's quiet and parking is free. Dishes are $10-$20 on average.
Fox was good but had to much sodium. I got medium spicy which is hot, but not too hot. Service was good.
I've eaten here twice a week since I moved to Houston. The best!
It was ok. I had the Pad Woon Sen, and I just didn't enjoy it. I would return to try something different.

Been coming here for 30 years! Excellent food and friendly service.
This is my kind of restaurant. Comfortable atmosphere and very tasty food. Good service too. I'll be back for sure.
Delicious Thai food in a great location.Good options across the board, including great vegetarian and vegan options. Also fantastic spicy options that are actually legitimately spicy. One word of caution: if you do order spicy food make sure you want it to actually be truly properly burn a hole through you spicy.Strongly recommended.
Always a good choice for Thai in Houston. All dishes are flavorful and try the ginger tea.
Please note this review is strictly for Thai Pepper’s delicious Beef Panang and Chicken Panang. Each is equally excellent, and taste as good as they did 20 or so years ago. While I like all kinds of Thai food, Panang is my favorite, and how I personally compare Thai restaurants. Over the years, I’ve had this dish, usually beef, at perhaps 20+ establishments. Most versions are pretty generic. Not very complex, kind of thinly textured, and while good, pretty forgettable. But to me, the best Panangs by far are at Thai Pepper and Kanamwan, both in Houston. Both restaurants produce these curries with the complexity and flavor they deserve, and are more densely textured. But make no mistake, they are not that similar in flavor, yet both superb in their own right. By the way, I rate these Panangs higher than even the nationally praised Lotus of Siam in Las Vegas, where I’ve eaten many times.
