A great restaurant! I know it best because it hosted some of the meetings for Houkulele, a ukulele social group. Besides their main eating area, they have rooms that can be set aside for purposes such as our ukulele jams. This is an especially valuable resource to have in this neighborhood where a lot of the restaurants are too small or busy for larger group activities.
Always a consistent favorite. Bartenders are excellent and food is still good after all these years of being a customer. The place feels very warm and homely. Outdoor seating is a nice option too in decent weather. Very highly recommended.
I've been eating at the Black Lab since moving to Houston. Other restaurants have come and gone, but the Lab has always been here. Now she too is closing her doors for good. I'll miss this little English Haven. Thanks for the good eats and healthy laughter.
