Chicken and waffles still the number one option...
We stood in line for 1hr 30min out in the humid Houston heat to try this place. Babyyyyy hear me when I saw it was WORTH. IT. We got the Katfish and Grits and the Chicken Wings and Waffle. Both were incredibly delicious, flavorful, served our KWIK, and the friendly staff were super helpful and courteous. They have other businesses nearby that offer similar if not identical menu items so know before you go! Definitely be coming here again on our next visit to Houston. Thank ya'll for everything!!
2025: Came here again and tried more things. The catfish was nothing special (no tartar sauce?), the grits were good, the waffles were good, the chicken was good. The coffee and hot chocolate were good. Nothing was amazing.
The staff is welcoming and helpful in guiding you through the menu (the line is long, so they want you to be ready to order).
2011: Went here during their morning rush, once. I didn't see what the craze was about--it's perfectly average food. I'd consider giving it another chance, based on its reputation alone, though.
Went on a Tuesday morning and the line was out the door, but moved fairly quickly. The food was so good!! Typically, restaurants are skimpy on the sausage gravy for biscuits and gravy, but TBK served plenty and had big chucks of sausage - so tasty!! Everything was so good!! And customer service was stellar! Everyone was so friendly and helpful. Not sure if it was the owner or manager, but a gentleman went around to all the tables checking on customers. When visiting Houston, TBK is a MUST stop!! Warning: If you go on a weekend, bring your patience for the wait . . . but it'll be well worth it!!
Very busy restaurant which is a good indicator of great food and service. The wait was about 10 minutes and the line to order was already out of the door. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I was impressed that the staff did not make parents with young children wait, which speaks to the family friendly vibe of the restaurant. The wait for food was very short for such a busy establishment. The portion sizes of food were actually enough to share with two people. Once you order, you can self seat and also grab any condiments that you might need also with silverware. The staff was very attentive and efficient. When you think about comfort food, this restaurant fits the bill.
The food is absolutely amazing here!
Marcus, I ordered breakfast for my sister & I & was delivered Uber Eats to The Methodist Medical Center. I’ve patronized your business for years & always highly satisfied. The worst $40 I’ve ever given away.

I am a,Native Houstonian and I am a huge supporter of black businesses. I have eaten the Breakast Klub on many occasions. My visit today was the first in a long time. Although, I enjoyed the food I did not like having to stand in line, the condition of the building. The restroom doors are not labeled to designate the gender of the restrooms. Parking is still a hassle. Lastly, there were many Hispanics working there busting tables and working in the kitchen. I would think a black owned business would have more blacks working there in every position. High school students that are in the culinary departments at high school such as Yates would make good employees.

I wish I could give this place a million stars for their service/hospitality!! After a really bad experience at another establishment the evening before this one was just so heart warming and one to remember. From the line outside, to the door to the register, all the way to the end of our meal and the owner coming out to ask about our experience was just AMAZING! The service was quick, the food was fresh! We didn’t know what their specials were since it was our first time there and Our cashier even was so generous enough to give us a sample of their known for chicken wings which were BOMB! We ended up ordering 2 orders after a taste! The price was right for everything we got, the serving sizes are big and OMG THEIR biskuitsss are to die for! I would come back to Houston just to visit this restaurant!!!
Kid-friendliness: A perfect way to order for kids is the Al carte or even the breakfast sampler ! My niece loved the gravy and biscuits!! My son devoured the potatoes and my daughter couldn’t stop eating the eggs!

This restaurant is first come, first serve. The line was long waiting in the heat they offered water while we waited. Once we did get inside the food came fast and hot. The food was well seasoned. The customer service was great. I see why there’s a line to get in the restaurant.
