Food is great. However, I've gone TWICE and they ran out of lettuce and failed to tell me after I had already paid for my order. And another time they ran out of beef. They clearly have an issue keeping stock of things. If you go, I would call ahead of time before wasting your time driving and then being out of menu items

Rice was under cooked. Lemonade was not homemade. Other then getting a big portion size of it idk what other good i can say.

This is my favorite place for this cuisine in proximity to where I live. I love one other better (just check my reviews), but I do live Chicken and Rice Guys as a great place in this area! Personally, I think it is worth ordering double meat and half and half on the rice/salad....I suppose this is a long pop-up place, but I hope it becomes a permanent fixture in the neighborhood!

Sad to see the Yale location close on January 16, 2020 per a note left on the door. Their food was delicious, portions were huge and their sauce selection was phenomenal. In particular their mint cilantro and different spice levels hot sauce. Looks like Halal Guys on Ella is going to own this fast-casual style concept in the area.

Meh. H guys is better. Order was wrong and didnt realize it until we got home. Maybe it's the setup? At any rate, this is our second time and we arent impressed.

I'm not usually too crazy about fast casual spots but wow, I'm obsessed with this place. They're very similar to Halal Guys. As a vegetarian, I prefer their tofu over the Hala Guys' falafel. For $7.99, you get a huge portion of food. I split mine into 3 separate meals because there was no way I could eat that much in one sitting. Their sauces are what make the plates so delicious. I personally love the creamy garlic and bbq sauces. This location in the Heights is brick and mortar while the one that just opened in Greenway Plaza is in a food court. Aside from the great food, service is incredible. The store manager was very friendly and made sure we had a great experience. Parking is also very easy since they have a private lot shared within the plaza.

Go here! It's delicious! Both the traditional and chicken gyro are good. Sauces are serve yourself so you can try all of them/mix and match. Recommend the creamy garlic with a touch of hot sauce.

really good, lot better than halal guys or at least for my taste buds. fresh, moist and tender chicken and tasty beef. one little thing, if they can add little more salad with onions and dont charge extra for it. Love the sauce table pour it as much as you like.

Absolutely was not bad at all. Service was great as everyone knows I’m picky on service. Good food and fits right into my meal plan.

I want to give it another shot next time I'm in Houston since I went during the opening weekend. I love the concept and the SAUCES yay, but truthfully it was just way too salty for me. Not sure if it was the chicken or the added items. It definitely has potential though.

If your main competitor’s product is rock solid, you need to do everything in your power to match or beat them in order for you to win over customers. That’s not what’s going on here with my first experience. No sense of freshness or made to order, and bland to the taste. Meat portions weren’t generous. I was excited that there might be another chicken and rice halal joint that could put up a fight but this isn’t the one for me.

I work right up the street from Chicken & Rice Guys, and it's become a great option for a take-out lunch. The portion sizes are huge, prices are reasonable, everything is flavorful (even the tofu), and the service is fast and friendly. They have a serve-yourself condiment table with to-go containers for your sauce, which means no judgment if you want to take more than one container of the delicious garlic sauce.

We've done takeout here at least four times, and they've nailed it every time. The portions are huge, the meat is flavorful and the sauces are top-notch. I also appreciate that they don't automatically include single-use silverware in our to-go bag. We're just bringing this home and can use what we've got. I didn't know this was a pop-up, so I really hope it sticks around. This is a great, healthy option for going out to eat.

I'm giving this 5 stars over the 4.5 it may actually earn. Love the food. Wish the containers and sauce situation was a bit different. The containers are full (good), but the sauces are added on the side or after which makes mixing it weird. I often take it home and then serve it 2x in a large bowl.

Here was my totem pole for halal rice plate prior to CNR, Gyro King over Jone's over Halal Guys. After trying Chicken and Rice Guys this past weekend, here is my new totem pole, Chicken & Rice Guys over everything else.
