My friends and I ordered pizzas, and they took forever to come out. I didn’t even get mine. I decided to ditch it bc my friends were done eating and ready to go. I still got charged for a pizza I didn’t receive. It was my first time there.
They said they only have 1 oven. Like how are you gonna have a full menu, but only able to cook 1 pizza at a time??

This place is a whole vibe. Moody, good music, a little den amongst mostly patio bars in the Heights. Reminds me of Star Bar really. Happy hour half off pizza’s til 7 and they make them fresh. Free juke. Free pool on Sundays. Beer selection has a lot of throw-backs and all the usual new stuff
And a parking lot! What a revelation.

There are plenty of bars around where you can kick back with a cold beer and enjoy some good music. And then there are others that really stand out—they serve ice-cold beer and play some seriously great tunes, just like this one. It’s the kind of place where you can relax, soak in the vibe, and let the music take you away

Very cool spot. Most of the space is a retro bar top. Free pin ball and jukebox. All cans and bottles, great service. Pizza was delicious, wings could be a little crispier, great sandwiches.

I stumbled upon The Deuce by accident while looking for late-night food on a Monday night, and I’m so glad I did! First off, finding the parking lot completely full was surprising for a Monday, but it makes sense now; this place has a lot to offer. They have a large private parking lot, which is impressive for a smaller business in the Sunset Heights area.
Upon entering, I realized it was a true dive bar, complete with a pool table, arcade games to the left, a jukebox straight ahead, and a bar surrounded by coolers stocked with a diverse beer selection to the right. They also serve cocktails and bar food, including pizza, wings, and subs, so I decided to give it a try. Alejandro was my bartender and mentioned they’d opened about six months ago. I also met Heather, a regular, who shared that The Deuce was created from two beloved local bars that had recently closed.
The walls are decorated with memorabilia from those bars, and there are photos of past employees who’ve passed away, giving the place a strong sense of history and community. Heather told me she’s been a regular for over 20 years at the former bars, which speaks volumes about the loyalty and warmth this place carries.
I ordered the Hot Honey Garlic Wings ($9) and the Italian Stallion Pizza ($16), which came topped with Italian sausage, pepperoni, roasted garlic, and roasted fennel, with fresh jalapeño added for an extra $2. While waiting for my food, I decided to try an Old Fashioned cocktail ($12), made with Bulleit Bourbon, bitters, turbinado, orange, and cherry. When the food arrived, I decided to dine in instead, and Alejandro kindly provided a plate and napkins. Both the wings and the pizza were good, and the Mexican Coca-Cola I ordered to go was a nice touch.
If you’re looking for a dive bar with character, history, and good food in Sunset Heights, The Deuce is worth checking out. It’s got a great vibe, a strong local following, and is open late with solid food options.

AMANDA was the best freaking bartender… She is fun, and makes the best drinks… She will make a girls night a fun night.. Thank you for being so kind!
PS- To this chic who left the review below… You’re lucky you didn’t get the police called on you. Why would someone apologize to you because your form of payment didn’t work?.. Tell the whole story before writing a review.. Thanks Byeeeeeee….
Woman at Bar with Bad Form of Payment’s Review:
This place has potential, but the bar staff is a disaster. The bartenders seemed either clueless or maybe even drunk, struggling with basic tasks like putting drinks on the correct tabs. Service was slow, and they were far from friendly. When I pointed out that I had been charged for four beers when I only ordered two, Amanda, the bartender, was outright rude instead of apologetic. They need serious staff improvements if they want to keep customers coming back
