A trip to The Flaming Fish in Buffalo, NY, is a must for any seafood lover, especially for those who enjoy a Southern-inspired twist on classic dishes. My recent meal there was a delightful experience, with a couple of standout items that deserve a special mention. To start, we ordered The Bombay appetizer. The menu describes it as 12 golden fried shrimp tossed in a signature blend of spices and a light, spicy sauce, served over a bed of lettuce with shredded carrots, cabbage, and green onions. This appetizer lives up to its name and then some. The shrimp were perfectly fried—crispy on the outside without being greasy, and juicy and tender on the inside. The light spicy sauce was the real star, offering a fantastic kick of flavor without overwhelming the delicate taste of the shrimp. The bed of fresh veggies beneath it provided a cool, crisp counterpoint to the warm, fried seafood, creating a well-balanced and satisfying first course. It's a great choice for sharing or as a lighter entree. For the main course, I opted for The Remington. This dish is a beautiful plate of food, featuring a 7-ounce herb-crusted salmon fillet and grilled shrimp, served over creamy garlic mashed potatoes and collard greens, all finished with their signature "Sauce Remington." The salmon was cooked to perfection—moist and flaky with a flavorful, well-seasoned crust. The grilled shrimp were plump and succulent, a nice contrast to the salmon. The creamy garlic mashed potatoes were rich and comforting, a perfect base for the protein. And while collard greens can sometimes be hit-or-miss, these were tender and savory, adding a hearty, Southern touch to the meal. The signature sauce was a delicious final flourish, tying all the elements together with a creamy, herby flavor. The portion size was generous, leaving me feeling fully satisfied. Overall, The Flaming Fish delivers on its promise of delicious, flavorful seafood. The atmosphere is vibrant and inviting, and the service is friendly and efficient. While some reviews have mentioned inconsistencies with side dishes, my experience with The Remington's sides was excellent. From The Bombay's perfectly spiced shrimp to the expertly prepared Remington, this restaurant is a top contender for a fantastic seafood meal in Buffalo.
We visited their new brick and mortar location and were very impressed ! Our server was warm and friendly and he reminded me of my son. The food was FANTASTIC- seafood dip, crab cakes and fried fish - all spectacular. Will definitely go again !

Terrible service, grease is old
Horrible refund policy, bad food !!
Everything about The Flaming Fish is fabulous! Super friendly staff (D was our server) and a Southern menu that is out of this world. We had the fried green tomatoes, gumbo, herb trout and haddock with collard greens. The food is amazing! Kudos to the chef and family. Highly recommend!
It was wonderful!

I had the fish and fries. The was bland.i had to go home and season it up. The honey hot sauce was pretty good. I didn't care for the tarter sauce it tasted like mayonnaise and relish mixed together. I might go back and try a different dish.

Too bad we never had a chance to get our food. We placed a to go order. Waited over 40mins with the estimated wait time. They said there will be an additional 15 mins. I asked for the order and transaction to be voided. I will be removing this place from my list of places to try in Houston. The manager/cook wouldn’t even come to say I’m sorry for the wait or address me at all. She came to the register to cancel the transaction from the kitchen to the front counter which was opposite of where I was standing.

They need to go back to the drawing board and make some food improvements quickly. While I have no proof as an avid foodie and cook, I could tell the pancakes were not made from scratch, but just box mix with added vanilla extract. The fried green tomatoes that I had we’re good, but the sauce was terrible. It was too sweet and did not pair well with the green tomatoes. The grits had a brownish color and did not look appeasing. The only saving grace is that the customer service is good however, the waiters had an issue of not standing and fully listening to people‘s order. At times, you would tell them something and they will walk off as if something was on fire in the kitchen. Again, they were nice, but it became annoying. Then you add in the mix the food not being too well it’s not a good thing.

I been wanting to try this place out for a while. I drove 30+ mins to get there. Placed a to go order. Was never told the kitchen was behind. I saw several people come in and place their orders. They received their food before I did. After waiting almost an hour I asked about my food. At that point is when I was told the kitchen was backed up. There was no communication between when I ordered my food and when I asked about my food. After a little over an hour I finally received my food. Food was good from what I could eat (not a fan of bell peppers slices, mushrooms and onions splices in my Alfredo sauce). Also tried the strawberry crunch cheesecake. The cheesecake part was good. The cake not so much. Please do better with communicating with your customers.
