I was excited to try this place out but to be honest I wasn't very impressed with the food, especially for the price. I had the hot shroom sandwich and that was pretty good, though it did give me some indigestion later. I also ordered the fish tacos and didn't like them, and the butter cake with oatmilk ice cream tasted like bland cornbread. I also ordered one of their mules and it tasted weird, thankfully they removed it from my bill.
Every time I visit, I am always greeted at the door. Nothing but exceptional service and friendly staff. The food is amazing every time. The chef’s here have a passion for cooking delicious vegan food.
Fully vegan, a bit less casual/more upscale restaurant. Lots of gluten free options as well. The service was fast and friendly. I enjoyed a delicious curry and cocktail. Will definitely be back!
Friendly staff, most of whom have been there a while so it seems like a positive place to work at as well. There are no menu weak spots-even things I disliked simply because they’re not my taste (crab puffs) were well executed and honestly gorgeous dishes!
I recently visited Ginger Mule with two friends and overall had a really interesting experience. First off, the service was absolutely amazing. Easily a 10 out of 10. The guy who served us was super friendly and what I appreciated the most is that he really knew the menu inside and out. It’s always a plus when someone can actually recommend things with confidence and clearly knows what they’re talking about.
As for the food, I’d give it around a 7 or 8 out of 10. I had the lasagna, one of my friends tried a burger and the other had a pita. Everything looked and tasted good while we were eating, but unfortunately both my friend and I ended up with stomachaches afterwards. Not sure what happened exactly. It might’ve just been something off that day or maybe the type of oil they used didn’t sit well with us. That said, we’re still open to giving it another try and maybe ordering different dishes next time.
The place definitely has potential and the staff alone makes it worth a second visit. Hopefully next time the food sits better because I really wanted to love everything about it.

Nice comfortable place with friendly staff. Really good coffee but, the toast beneath the avocado was not only difficult to cut with fork and knife but, it was hardly chewable. I would have returned it but, I on a tight time schedule. I'll try to go back to provide my feedback personally.

This place has got to be the best vegan restaurant with the most variety in Houston. There is so much to choose from, and everything is good! My hubs and I are always able to share 1 big dish and some of an appetizer. The portions and Texas sized, and for a vegan restaurant, that’s rare.
Love this place so much, will continue to support them as long as they are open!

Such an abundance of vegan options, and so many interesting dishes! We got the penne pasta with broccoli and olive oil; the baby spinach salad with garbanzo beans, cranberries, raisins, carrots, onions, and dressing; the fried rice with Just Egg, broccoli, and cauliflower; and tres leches for dessert. Everything was so delicious, and the atmosphere was very welcoming.
Cute little place! I loved that I could pick anything on the menu and there were things other than bowls. I love bowls, but I’m also tired of that being the only plant-based option. The butternut squash lasagna was delicious (as were the salad and sourdough). My non-vegan son had pancakes and an omelet. He was skeptical before he started eating and then declared it better than most brunch places.
I order from The Ginger Mule every time I’m in Houston for work and it’s delicious. Everything I’ve ordered has been carefully made and tasty. Great to see a vegan restaurant with such a diverse menu in Houston! The tres leaches cake incredible!
We celebrated a friend’s birthday who is transitioning to plant based. We had the crab puffs and nachos for an appetizer and omg. Sooo good! The nachos were spicy. My friend had the truffle pizza which was very creamy and nice. Someone else had the curry and it was seriously tasty. The only reason I gave it 4 stars was because I had the the enchilada plate and it was subpar. Not very flavorful. Disappointing because Houston is the heart of Tex-Mex. The queso fresco was quite nice though. I think it may have been a fluke based on the fact that everything else was amazing. My friend had a mocktail and I had the lemonade. No notes. Pricey but will definitely be going back for special occasions or to treat myself!
I have continued to try different dishes but each time I have symptoms of severe inflammation. Admittedly I’m super sensitive… This restaurant has a great staff and is always packed w people who want lots of yummy comfort food that’s also vegan! and their servings are generous. But for those of us who are ultra sensitive to certain ingredients E g Canola oil or soy products …. This is not the ideal spot Updated from previous review on 2025-07-05
