The Original Marini's Empanada House

We moved away and this is the #1 local Houston spot we miss. If I ever do a business trip back I will drive an hour out of the way for lunch or dinner.

Small, cozy & family oriented. The empanadas are amazing. The young lady at the cashier needs a little work on her people skills. Other than that minor detail. Highly recommend.

We found this place on our drive back and forth from San Antonio and tried it one time. Now every time we travel we have to make our stop at Marinis. Great freshly made empanadas to order. Generous fillings inside and amazing flavor.

Still one of the best mom-and-pop spots in all of Houston! The food is absolutely fabulous, and I love that they go the extra mile to offer gluten-free options. Patricia Marini-Garcia is truly the heart of this place—so warm, welcoming, and genuine. She makes everyone feel like family and cares deeply about this restaurant and the people who walk through its doors. Great choice, Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives!
