The restaurant smelt a bit stale. The bread was dry and rubbery, certainly not fresh. Lobster bisque was quite nice albeit a bit too Spicey. The linguine clams were ok , although the sauce was an unpalatable. Disappointed overall. The waiter though was very attentive
Overall disappointed in our visit here. Service was prompt and friendly, but when food arrived, steaks were medium warm , not hot and the sides were luke warm. We sent the side back for reheating and they came out much better. Overall we prefer the other steakhouse downtown owned by the same person. Gave the Palm a try and will move on next time
Love the food here 👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼
My wife and I had the summer special Lobster Experience with a 5 lb Nova Scotia Lobster. Both the lobster and the presentation were excellent. We arrived a little early so we had a drink and appetizer in the bar. Ephram took great care of us in the bar and the Palm meatballs were exceptional. The Lobster experience is a 3 course dinner but after we told Julian what we were having, we decided to have carpaccio too. Julian beautifully handled getting our salads and the carpaccio out. Every element of our dinner was very good. Unfortunately, I did not get his name, but the "busboy" who helped us did an masterful job of breaking down the lobster. It was magnificent to have a whole lobster without having to do any work! We decided on the carrot cake for dessert. It was HUGE - about a quarter of a cake. Obviously, we took most of it home. My only comment is that there weren't very people at the restaurant for a Friday night. It is downtown Houston, so it is a bit of a drive if you don't live downtown and of course Houston has many fantastic restaurants. Hopefully they are busier during the week and have a good lunch business.
Our service was slow. Our waiter was slammed by everyone coming in at one time even at 5:30. He was working hard but maybe distracted. Not our typical experience for a Fertitta resturaunt. Maybe it was understaffed.
Tony the manager is the best! Our bartender (she’s from Midland) was exceptional. Music is great for a steakhouse. Frank Sinatra , Steve Tyrell etc..Ask for a cheeseburger! It’s not on the menu but IT Should Be!!!! The best!
Had a wonderful dinner on Sunday after the Astros game. The atmosphere is pure class. The food is just delicious and the service is superb. I recommend the lobster, the crab ravioli and the meatball appetizer. Tony the manager was so gracious to us and made our visit a memorable one. Thanks to The Palm servers! Great Job!
We have friends visiting from out of town and planned a brunch here. The food and service were both amazing. We will definitely be back here soon!
I'd been wanting to try this place for a while and finally decided our anniversary was the perfect time. We were welcomed with a sign on the table and some colorful confetti. The food and service were both very good. I really enjoyed the bread service (you can't go wrong with super soft butter!), and they also brought us a complimentary slice of cheesecake at the end. Overall it was a very nice meal.
We dined here for a business dinner and had a wonderful time. The Palm offered us a private room for our party and while the noise at first was pretty loud (they had live music), it got better throughout the evening and the private room helped us to have a nice conversation. The service was great and everyone in our group said their meals and drinks were very good. Parking was also easier than expected - lots of available street parking and valet offered off San Jacinto.

Excellent dinner and service. Brandon did a great job taking care of our large party from the tabletop mixer to the sit down dinner. Highly recommend the chicken pharm! It is huge and unlike anything I've ever seen. Steak was cooked perfectly and had great add ons of lobster and crab.
We went to the Palm downtown for our 6th Anniversary. WOW! I had heard about the restruant at a rodeo event but I was more than impressed. The service, the food, the music, the atmosphere! That is our new GO-TO place for sure. Be sure and try the wine Tilman made as the signiture wine.
Two things really surprised us about this Houston Institution. The side of spaghetti had no flavor. It was mentioned to the waiter who said, that's why people order a side dish instead. So it is a known issue by the restaurant. The second was the dessert. It was a chocolate cake and it was dry and stale. We didn't finish it and left it. Based on the price point we wouldn't recommend it or go back.
Recently attended a business dinner in the private dining room originally I was really excited for this experience. Maybe it was just not the right night or the standards of the Palm have eroded. The servers seemed overwhelmed with orders and struggled to keep drinks filled and get them from the bar. The server snubbed myself and several colleagues when we asked for something.
Then the main courses came… steak was cooked perfect, but had no flavor to it. The bernaise sauce tasted like I was squeezing a lemon straight into my mouth. The risotto tasted like it was made with salt water from the Gulf. When we sent it back as inedible the server was annoyed that I’d called it that, only for the chef to confirm it was not right. The second attempt was as equally salty.
If you’re trying to entertain clients or your team with a nice meal, maybe look at some alternative options before settling with the Palm.
I have been dining and hosting events at The Palm since before it moved from Westheimer to Downtown. I host large events on an annual basis, and even though not every thing is always perfect, the event coordinator, Jan Bonugli, is a bright, shining personality that is one of the reasons I keep hosting my events here. Food is great, ambiance is great, and service is great. Most high end steakhouses boast all these things. The Palm stands out in my mind because Jan goes above and beyond to make sure that our experience is the best that it can be.
