This place used to be amazing! I don't know if it's Under New Management or what but menu is different and not nearly as good. Overall quality and selection has been disappointing since revisiting this place. Would have given it a 5 star once upon a time but it's merely a passable 3 stars now. Not terrible but not what it once was, probably won't be back myself. It's not worth the hassle anymore without the outstanding menu it used to have.

Had lunch here with my son a week ago ! It was my first time here. My son had burger and fries and I opted for the fish and chips which was the closest I’ve come to match the taste to what I had in London. My brother recommended it and it was spot on . The only thing was the music was very loud could not have a conversation without being loud . The ambiance is great love the fireplace,
Arelly was super nice and was extremely courteous and patient with us . Going back tonight to celebrate our brothers birthday so looking forward to a great evening hopefully with background music 😜.

A real British pub with the wonderful ambiance with a true Cockney waiter (who was funny, too!)

Definitely in need of refurbishment, the outside area is dilapidated and brings the area down quite a bit too.

British barman was friendly, but had issues getting football on. American employee shrugged it off and didn’t even want to try. Strange she has not yet figured out football is important in British pubs.

I’d asked a while ago if the Sunderland and Newcastle games would be on, and was told all games were on if they were during opening hours. In reality, not the case. They couldn’t get either game, and then as they got a handle on the tv (took almost half the game anyway) - they defaulted to a request by customers who came in later. While I’m sure they were probably regulars the business wants to keep sweet, just be honest and say you don’t show North East games and that you’re not used to setting the tv up for live football. It was awkward, and honestly a bit rude: you don’t get new regulars this way.

The beer was pricy ($8 for a bottle of brown ale) and the fish oil needs changing as the fish batter was too dark. Overall, not somewhere we will try again which is a shame as the pub is well located for the river oaks area, but sadly did not deliver and caused my dad to miss over half of his game.

I’m left feeling embarrassed I sent my dad to this place, made me look like I have no quality control. Lesson learnt!

Found another great Triple D place. The bartender was great. The drinks were very good and the food was outstanding.
We had an appetizer and two entrƩes, and everything was excellent.

We used to love the food and atmosphere at Red Lion, but tonight was a terrible experience and I think we’ll never be back. We were seated next to a NOVA (National Organization for Vital Action) Christmas party, in which the leader stood and gave a white supremacy toast/speech to the group. We’re absolutely disgusted that Red Lion would host people like this while serving foods that hail from places like India and Thailand. It’s disgraceful. Edit: after Red Lion’s response that my review was unfair- I’ll add that our server took 20 minutes to greet our table, maybe because she was avoiding these weirdos. Hence the 1 star review for service. I waited tables for many years and we still tipped her well and got out of there without finishing our food. I can’t imagine nobody in management was alerted to this group’s presence but if not then that’s unfortunate.

1st time here today - went light with a salad + shrimp and chicken skewers. Salad was fresh and crisp. Shrimp/chicken were both seasoned & cooked perfectly. Server was very friendly and attentive. Inside was very nice and clean. Zero complaints…will definitely come back.

I felt transported to the UK while I was there. Good selection of English beer a long with local favorites. Menu selections was top notch with some fantastic options on offer. I settled on the fish (cod) pie with peas and it was simply awesome. There was some great desserts available too but I was stuffed!!
