The biggest draw here is the cyberpunk neon aesthetic. It does look pretty cool on first impression, and the custom packaging of their to-go containers is on point, but the dim environment only illuminated by harsh neon glow not only gives one a headache in a short amount of time, but the lights themselves produce a surprising amount of heat, which contributes to the overall too warm temperature inside, especially in the Texas Summer heat, which could be somewhat alleviated by lowering the thermostat on the air conditioning but is not for reasons passing understanding.

The staff is very friendly and very accommodating, but that can't completely make up for the fact that you're being somewhat overcharged for mall food court quality Chinese food with too much sugar in the sauce, and what are probably bulk purchased frozen egg rolls and gyoza. Five dollars for a tortilla size bland veggie pancake with a comparable thickness is too much.

If you find yourself craving Chinese food later in the evening with an admittedly cool aesthetic environment, and don't mind the super mid quality food, or just don't consider yourself to have a very refined palette, then this place will probably hit the spot for you, but if you are looking for a quality dining experience with exceptional food, or need back support at your seat (as all seating is either on bar stools inside or bench seating outside), then maybe give this one a pass unless you have absolutely no other option, or just want to go once for an Instagram shot.

Saw this place on social media and gave it a try. There’s a million items to choose from. The food was delicious and super fresh. I ordered the walnut shrimp fried to perfection — they had a light airy crisp to them and just the right sweetness. I also ordered the house fried rice with shrimp. The shrimps in the rice were fresh and deveined and a good size. All rices come with an egg roll. I was not a fan of the egg roll or the sweet and sour sauce, personally didn’t like the taste. I wish they had alcoholic drinks other than just beer and had more variety of teas. I would definitely return.

The atmosphere was nice! Very small eating area! I would suggest taking the food to go! If you like pics, it’s a spot for nice pics! The food was tasty and they also had sparkling water!! Price of food was reasonable and a hefty serving!! I only went for the experience!!!! Parking is a headache!!

Ordered curbsidefrom this location with no curbside delivery. Unfortunately I had to go into the establishment in my night pajamas because I originally ordered curbside felling a little under the weather, and was unable to get curbside fulfillment even though it is stated on the ordering app and website! But the food is good ?

I have been waiting to try this place since I moved to Houston and I am glad I did. My boss decided to buy us lunch and we picked this restaurant and doordashed it. I am a vegetarian and they had many options.I picked the curry rice with cauliflower. First of all the portions were great. It was flavorful, spicy and tasted amazing. I also had hot and sour soup which was amazing too. Everything had so much flavor and I can't wait to try other items. The only thing I would change is maybe cutting up the cauliflower so the pieces are smaller instead of leaving them big and remove the limes. Other than that, it's my new favorite Chinese spot.

The food is so fresh and huge portions! I got the chongqing chicken, it was delicious. They also gave me a sample of black sesame ice cream which will be on their menu soon. I was incredible. Since the portions are so big I would recommend they offer a half-size! Anyways, five stars!

Used to love Rice Box when I was in the Heights area a lot, but the location on Shepherd definitely disappointed. I ordered two sweet and sour chicken on rice. Instead of putting the sauce on the side, they totally drown the meat in sauce. If that’s not what you’re used to, you should ask for sauce on the side. I don’t remember them doing this in the Heights location, but maybe. I was definitely going there since the first week they opened off Rutland. Also, I do remember both locations, or all locations, giving you giant boulders of chicken or beef on any dish you order. Even giant chunks of broccoli. So big that everything should be served with a knife and fork. I don’t understand why they do that, and makes me wonder what gives. What’s with the MASSIVE chunks of food. It’s weird and very hard to eat, especially with chopsticks. Seriously don’t get it.

Tried the Curry Chicken, General TSO Chicken, and the Orange Chicken with fried rice and white rice with Chicken Egg Rolls, it’s definitely a FIVE ⭐️ for the quality and quantity. Worth the price and wait.
