I have always been a huge fan of The Rice Box. Every time we have come in the past the food was good, the portions were big, and service was great. I've always gone out of way to come to all locations. Sadly this visit fell short and I don't think I'm going to come back.
We came at 11:30 AM to have some brunch. I was really excited to have their shrimp chow fun and crab ragoons.
There were some noticeable changes at first. They don't serve soda anymore which isn't a deal breaker but odd to me. They don't accept AMEX anymore which again is odd to me but probably done to save money on processing fees.
The biggest changes that I noticed was the quality and quantity of the food. Usually they give us so much food it's overflowing and we can't finish it. This time the food came out and wasn't even at the top of the box. The chow fun wasn't as good and super oily. I can tell they changed their shrimp because they were so small I thought they forgot to add them into my order. The egg roll tasted off and wasn't as good as it usually was.
I understand they're probably changing things to save money but I'd rather pay more and get good food than pay the same and get bad quality and quantity food. I don't think I'll be coming back sadly. I miss the old rice box but probably won't find it here.

First time trying this place out. Came at a busy time but people who ordered after me were getting their food before I did. Waited almost 30 min until someone said they had to make a new batch of rice. Had to change the order just to be able to get out of the place. Disappointed

Genuinely so good. The environment is SO cool. They had anime playing on the TVs, it was quiet, the lo mein was probably the best I've had in my entire life. The chicken was so tender I hardly had to chew it. As a whole, it was a 10/10 experience, but out server Hector definitely made it a 11/10. He was so sweet and accommodating! Thanks RiceBox!
Went to the new location on the Katy freeway. Nice atmosphere. Felt like you're sitting outside getting street food with the high ceiling concept and the inside neon lights. I was either sitting in Asia eating street food, or was on the set of the Fifth Element, or Blade Runner. Not sure which lol.

Loved the food it was hot, juicy, and flavorful. That atmosphere was great as well something unique and fun. Kind of bare. But the uniqueness makes up for it. Food was awesome. Robust portions and bountiful flavors. Definitely will be back.

It was pretty good, I had the house fried rice with shrimp it was a little dry but tasty, the beef with American style broccoli was very good, tender meat and the sauce had a good flavor.
I like the decor kinda of a K-pop design.
