I ordered meat alternatives, such as bean tamales and jalapeño and cheese tamales. And just between us chickens, they taste exactly like they sound. Under-whelming

I visited the Tamale Joint today. The tamales are delicious and I got to try the Horchata drink for the 1st time. The employees are really friendly.
The tamales were mediocre and so was the salsa

Tamale are never the same...sometimes lots of pork, sometimes little pork, sometimes not greasy, sometimes too greasy...use to get free salsa when they first open now you have to purchase....everywhere you buy tamales you get the salsa for free. Expensive for what your getting.

Drove 45 minutes to get to this location just for them to tell us that there was going to be a 2 1/2 hour wait and they were out of tamales or a delay on the tamales but it's called The tamale joint
Tamales were a little pricey. The price of food has gone up. Tamales are good. Had to goggle the place to find it.

I ordered the chicken tortilla soup with some rice on the side to dine in. I also ordered a dozen beef tamales as well as a dozen chicken tamales to go.
The chicken tortilla soup was served in a small little bowl. The soup itself was slightly thick and had a strong tomato flavor. It was different from what I'm used to but nonetheless, very delicious. The rice had a sweet underlying flavor to it which was also not what I'm used to. Once combined with the soup, the sweetness from the rice paired very well with the tangy tomato flavor. If you have not had the pleasure of going to this place for this meal, I would definitely recommend it. This suits very well especially when you're feeling under the weather.
The tamales are delicious as well. A little small but in my opinion, masa to meat ratio was perfect. I've only tried the beef tamales and I'm definitely looking forward to trying the chicken tamales.

If I could give it 0 stars I would. The place looks good on the outside but these were the smallest tiniest tamales I have seen and for the price is crazy. The tamales are literally 2 bites at the most. You’re better off supporting your local tamale lady and getting actual great thick tamales. First time ordering for thanksgiving and now I have to find another place to order more because this can barely feed 3 people. Do better!

Restaurantji Recommends
I tried this for the 1st time . I was actually on the way to another restaurant. But I'm glad we stopped. Great service , great recommendations. I took off 1 star bc the potatoes had to be sent back they tasted like they had been sitting under a warmer or just sitting in the fryer wrack for awhile. And the churros were not good as well. They are not made fresh just like the potatoes aren't.
Did not get to order. only 2 employees- one was the owner. After waiting on line for 15 min was informed that it would be a 1 hr wait.
I had the beef tamales and let’s just say I won’t make that mistake again! Absolutely no taste !Bland Bland Bland!

I have ordered 20+ dozen for my office’s Christmas lunch. The last two years they catered so I could relax. This year the catering fee is a flat $600. Mind you it was half that the other two years. They only served for 2 hours. $300 an hour is crazy. The food total was $540 with tax so the catering fee was more than the food plus they don’t deliver so I have to pick up the tamales, rice and beans for 50 people. We like the tamales even though they are small. It was too late to order from someone else. Never again. Next year it’s Laredo Taqueria which are delicious and way bigger. I thought their package was a dozen but it was 1/2 a dozen. My coworker shared his dozen.
