I ordered a rou jia more (肉包馍), this is what I get. OMG this is not roujiamo, this is costco bread 包肉……
Very disappointed, too perfunctory, I won’t go there in the future

The soy milk and fried dough sticks here are the most special and the best, as well as the beef capsules and leek boxes. The boss's service is very good, and it feels like home.

North Chinese cuisine specialized in flour food. Food quality is good but not great. Chinese churros, 油条,was fresh and crispy. Tofu jelly, 豆脑,fresh made but a little salty. Also ordered beef burritos 牛肉饼, was OK, but the inside was not fully warm. Overall food quality, I would give 4 stars. However the service hurts their rating. Only accept cash but no credit card. Interestingly, they put credit card logos on the wall, but they told me they only accepted cash.

Used to be a loyal customer here, we loved the food here, and it reminded me of the food in my hometown. However, one day, we sat at the table which was the closest one to the cashier desk and we could see clearly what happened in the kitchen. The male owner left the cashier desk after touching everything, cash, cards and the cashier machine, and he continued making the skewers without washing his hands or wearing any gloves. We didn’t finish our meal and left immediately, and we never went back. We didn’t mind so much about the toilet smell in the store, and we didn’t mind so much about the not-so-good service there, but we cannot stand anymore. So disappointing.

We enjoyed the abundant portion of food. The taste was nice, spice level was just right. The price was very decent considering everything went through an inflation these days. Of course don’t expect the same level of coziness or proactive service as an upscale diner, since we know what we paid for.

It’s a tiny, old but surprisedly good Chinese brunch place (northern style). I had enough HK Dim sum and have been looking for northern style brunch for a long time and I also see this one but it seems so old and out of fashion so I never went in. Finally, I had the first northern brunch here and didn’t fail. And I LOVE their Wanton, the skin is really thin and meat is very tender. I personally don’t like HK wanton, they put too many things such as water chestnut, shrimp etc. BUT I like the traditionally one the most, just meat and only meat but to make it very tender is not easy. This restaurant did a good job. AND it’s really CHEAP.

The hot soy milk is delicious, the leek box is crispy and juicy, the fried noodles are a bit salty, but acceptable, the wonton soup is moderately salty, and it is considered a good Chinese breakfast in Houston. It opens at 8am and the store is closed on Wednesdays. Parking is convenient , friendly staff.(The store gives priority to cash payment, please bring your own cash)
