Big decline at this location, which used to be good. Seat cushions are very deteriorated. Soda machine has way too high pressure - got all over my shirt. Had to wait several minutes for level of bubbles to drop. Lemonade gone. Several empty seats were dirty and not right for sitting. Heights location ought to be one of the good ones. But . . . no.

It's disappointing to write a negative review because my girlfriend and me have been coming to this Torchy's location for years as part of a weekly date. Sadly our most recent experience will be our last because the quest came out grainy and clumpy twice. Seriously, how do you screw up queso?....it's literally one main ingredient. The cleanliness reviews are also unfortunately true. Do yourself a favor and go to literally any other location.

I love Torchy's, and it pains me to write this review. The gradual decline of cleanliness I've experienced at this location is finally to a point where I will now say goodbye. The deciding factor was the large amount of black slime the came from the soda fountain nozzles today, coupled with the continued sewer smell in the back hallway where the kitchen is. The location on Shepherd isn't too far, and seems much more like they actually care.

The wrangler taco and breakfast burrito are decent. The chips and salsa have good flavor but the amount of crumbs or broken chips I paid for is terrible. The cashier was obviously miserable and hates her job. They don’t have good gluten free options really and according to the cashier they have one fryer for everything. Too bad they aren’t improving.

I went this weekend and the food was not good. It wasn’t the location. It is a general trend across all locations over the years. I have been going to Torchy’s since they first came to Houston. It was great back in the day. It has steadily gone downhill as investment firms have continued to influence its operations.

Love everything here, the Democrat taco is very tasty, love the elote corn. And the queso is so addicting. They also have bowls that are chocked full of goodness, and very fulfilling.

This location is filthy. Not clean at all. Dirty carpets, sticky everywhere, smells bad in the back near the kitchen and bathroom… I love torchys but this location needs help.

Come here often food is good and chips and queso is a must order here. This Torchy’s is our go to for a quick meal. The tacos are inventive and taste great plus they’ve always got classics like chicken fajita, bean and cheese, pork, and steak fajita tacos. The staff has gotten better over the past months and the restaurant is always clean. It can get busy during the dinner rush as this location seems to be a neighborhood favorite for heights families and residents.
