I was in the mood for Menudo and I finally found the perfect place for my craving that I even ordered one to take away. The food has a homemade flavor that is very rare to find in a place outside your home. The hoya coffee is a delight in the morning, as well as the atoles (walnut, corn, chocolate, strawberry), the rice pudding and the oatmeal are all Hoya's to order. In short, everything has a homemade flavor.
One of the best places I have found in Houston. The Menudo, barbecue, carnitas, birria and not to mention the Mole????. The mourning birds in red sauce are a delight. The tortillas are to the point. One of the things I loved is that they sell dough so I don't have to knead the dough for the tamales. They have forever natural products and natural herbs. They have a little bit of everything and the girls have a good attitude.

Stopped by here because of a benefit available via a web site. It has no curb appeal but I went in anyway. I found the nicest people working the food line and enjoyed an exceptional lunch. Give it a shot if you are in the neighborhood.
