Always loved coming here, but we had Galvin as our server, made the experience ten times better. Super high energy, super funny, matched all the vibes. Sukiyaki don was amazing as per usual, love the happy hour.

I love izakayas and this one just didn't do it for me. I've given it multiple chances. I like that it's in chinatown and open late but the food is fine it hust doesn't hit. The staff are nice enough as is the ambience.

What a cool place. Was looking for a fun Izakaya. Food is great and drink selections are even better. Looking forward to coming back.

Galvin was our waiter and he was amazing. He had a great attitude and provided excellent customer service to my wife and me. He made outstanding recommendations for our dishes, and everything we ordered was delicious. We truly enjoyed our experience and will definitely be back.

The food is mediocre, and the service is very bad. I ordered wine, and every time I have to ask the waiter to serve the wine! Our food was almost finished, so we were given wine. We only ordered one cup, and then two cups were served, and there was no refund. In addition, there are five of us, and they forced me to tip me 20%. And I didn't get the service I deserved.

Didn’t try food, but the atmosphere is good to grab couple drinks but, Okay selection of Japanese whiskey, serving with small ice ?????instead of a proper rock ruins it—melts too fast, whiskey tastes like water in minutes. . They really need someone who knows how to serve whiskey and the key details that make it right.

food and service are great ! i usually only place takeout orders so the small conversation while your waiting speaks volumes showing they care about the people who they serve to dine in or takeout ! music is trendy and fun atmosphere is great , prices are very reasonable too Definitely recommend !! plus their late night hours are super convenient

i had the tonkatsu ramen, which wasn't too bad. the sukiyaki rice bowl is too sweet, though. whoever the interior decorator is for all their restaurants: the vibes are pretty immaculate, especially for Chinatown

A great restaurant overall. Recommended dishes include the sashimi, Thai hamachi, gindara, shishamo yakitori, yaki soba, quail egg, wok sprouts, yaki udon, and okonomiyaki.
One downside is that they don’t partner with any delivery platforms, so pick up and delivery aren’t an option. Parking can also be a challenge, their lot is quite limited and often full.

My experience at Toukei last night was lovely. From the ambience, modern interior deco, good service and delicious food it all wowed me!
We started off with some seaweed salad, kimchi, pretty standard. The server recommended we try the Fried Burdock Root which he described as being a more flavorful french fry and apparently they had been out for a few months. The texture was more firm than a french fry and had more chew/flavor. I would definitely recommend/eat it again.
I've never had a truffle flavored ramen before but it was so flavorful along with the toppings. The chashu was a thick piece that was flavorful and tender, the fat melted nicely and wasn't overbearing. The soft boiled egg was perfectly cooked and marinated as well.
The chirashi bowl had 14 pieces of fish which I thought was quite substantial. The octopus was tender and all the fish was very fresh.
I'm coming back to try their drinks next (huge selection of japanese whiskeys) and will update!
